@amosolov.bsky.social Hey i've got some suggestions for extended mode: make militarized subsystems something you have to find and unlock. Right now it's so absolutely easy to just slap it on it's basically not there and it really flattens the logistics of actually having to deal with civilian hulls.

Oh also another from a mod i've been really enjoying lately: Tactical Combat Overhaul. It has several features that may be inline with this brutal play style but one is that ships have a chance to lose weapons in combat, particularly when that area of the ship takes heavy damage-

but it can be mitigated and prevented with heavy armor and or armored weapon mounts.... OK, actually just let me capture ships with marines again ALEX!!

I've been absolutely loving everything i've read about extended mode, not something that's default but a good experience to make the game REALLY hard and truly rewarding for some variety. And I hope you do, make it punishing! make it hard! Make me feel like i'm really living in techno hell!

Some other things you might be inspired from: UNGP has several options that I feel are along the lines of this, - One makes it so you have to have a percentage of your crew in marines or they'll riot and kill crew. - Another makes it so your fleet consumes food based on the number of crew
