I compiled jpegli on my phone, and let me tell you, it's way better than jpegoptim at making images smaller It strips metadata from them, tho, so you have to manually copy it back with something like exiv2, but it's so worth it

Sometimes I wonder how to write stuff like integrals. Words? Integral of one over x dx from one to two LaTeX? \int_1^2 \frac{1}{x} dx Mathematica? Integrate[x^(-1), {x, 1, 2}] Unicode??? โˆซโ‚ยฒ 1/x dx

why are humans the only animals that seek out something they hate so they can keep hating it or feel worse??? i wish humans to learn how to seek out love instead

tired: scalpers are scum wired: scalping is a sign that not enough cards are being printed inspired: having to gamble on which cards you get is absurd and should be illegal. just sell playsets of the whole set

Is there any Car place where I can ask for a custom dashboard? I don't like it when the dashboard goes up to 300kph but legally I can only drive up to 120kmh. The angle difference between two multiples of 10 is so small, you can be speeding without knowing.

Public Transport has a flaw, in which it tends to fill Outside-In rather than Inside-Out. There can be a lot of people blocking the entrance, not moving, while there are seats available and an empty corridor a few steps behind.

when i want to erase on paper my brain fires off the "ctrl z" neurons and i feel the physicality of "and now it should be erased" and im not sure this'll ever actually go away

Nvidia should rename DLSS 5 3D-Guided Neural Rendering to DLNR It's not about Super Sampling, it's about Neural Rendering. In fact, they should do that for the rest of their DLSS-things DLRR - Ray Reconstruction DLFG - Frame Generation They already did it with DLAA, Anti Aliasing

conclusions: as someone who does not enjoy turning images to slurry i'm mostly interested in lossless, where JXL wins handily: best PNG, optipng โ€” 359k best AVIF, lossless slow โ€” 334k (7% smaller) best WebP, lossless max โ€” 212k (41% smaller) best JXL, lossless tortoise โ€” 186k (48% smaller)

A driver complained about their ECU giving an error, and I asked for it They changed the Catalytic Converter's Sensor in order to try and fix it, but no luck So I told them maybe it's the Cat that needs fixing/changing, because you don't change your thermometer when it says you have a fever

I dislike how for No WiFi you see nothing, but for no Mobile Networks you see an exclamation mark. "HEY!, YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH YOUR NETWORK, FIX IT!" Phone, sometimes I want to disable mobile internet without disabling calls as well.

If a document is in UTF-8, but has <meta charset="UTF-16"> in it, and is web delivered to my Firefox, it shows UTF-8 interpreted as UTF-16LE. It doesn't seem to happen to anyone else, I tried a blank profile and it didn't happen either.

Also happens with JSLibCache, if you still happen to have it installed, but you have to disable it entirely on the website, not just the filter. Still, I only know of one (1) real site that has this issue, as well as my test page, so it's unlikely to matter.

I'm getting an E-Reader, hopefully I'll be able to read more and not be distracted by the small screen (having to zoom/rotate for text to be visible)

i am once again begging windows users to understand that linux nerds give you instructions in the form of terminal commands because "paste this in" is a million times faster than trying to lead you through the gui one button at a time, not because the gui doesn't exist

Wow, I didn't know GB18030 was weird with the space. 00-7F is ASCII, but 80-FE mean "the next byte determines if it's 2 or 4 bytes" 81 40 is ไธ‚ but 81 39 means the next 2 bytes are... UNICODE? I'm probably wrong, but it's weird.

I have been trying oxipng with my screenshots from June and July to see which option is fast and efficient. oxipng --zc 11 -f 0,6,7,8 --fast *.png That's slightly better and faster than -o2 which uses -f 0,1,6,7 Alternatively, you can write: oxipng -o2 -f 0,6,7,8 *.png
