I know there’s a few COVID-cautious people still out there. You pretty much never see them irl (because they’re hiding just like me). Every once in awhile I still need to venture out to buy groceries so there’s a chance you might see me wearing a mask. 1/

in one form or another that’s suited to our talents, interests, and abilities and then we’d all share in the abundance of all that there is because there’s plenty to go around. But we’re not there yet so I’ll just redistribute wealth in the manner that’s available to me. Hypothetically. 7/

Is stock trading ethical? Here’s the way I look at it. Income inequality has become so out of whack that yes, stock trading is an ethical and legal form of wealth distribution. Personally, I would be fine if society just got rid of money. I believe we should all be productive… 6/

The job didn’t pay much. There wasn’t much money in the budget but it was for a good cause so sometimes I worked for free. I knew I had to seek a better long-term solution so I eventually settled on the idea of stock trading. I don’t recommend this. It’s a lot harder than it looks. 3/

I’m throwing it out there as an option if you’re COVID-cautious or disabled and don’t have many other options. But just know that it can be a very long path to success and failure doesn’t look pretty. You’ll need to have reserves of energy and finances that you probably don’t have. 4/

A COVID-cautious lifestyle limits one’s employment opportunities. Employment limits one’s health (if it results in one getting repeatedly sick). I had an in-person job for a few years that was a fairly acceptable compromise in that I wasn’t around a lot of people and I had an air filter. 2/

I’ve wanted to have an off-grid power system much of my life. Today I decided to look into how much batteries cost since I know they’ve been coming down in price. $36/kWh….I remember when they used to be $1,000/kWh.

In 2026 let’s work to promote world peace by working toward making oil worthless. In many parts of America, oil is already so cheap it sells for less than the amount of money it took to produce it. Renewable energy is a big part of why that is happening. 1/

This is now the case. Renewables are now cheaper than fossil fuel. You are wasting money if you continue to choose fossil fuel. Many don’t know this and will continue to choose fossil fuel for awhile longer. Ultimately, the US will lose money over Venezuela. 14/

In the choice between cheap renewable energy and expensive fossil fuel, the US chooses to go the more expensive route. Ultimately this will harm the US economically. The US is putting all its chips in horse farms while others are building automobiles. 15/15

I think it will be decades more before we see the final demise of oil. It is cheaper to produce oil in some countries compared to others. As long as a country can still sell it’s oil for more than it costs to produce that oil, it will continue to do so. 12/

I hope for peace. I hope for a stable climate. I have wanted these things for a very long time. I’m also a realist. I know most people do not choose these two things if it costs them more money and the only way to achieve the first two is if it is the cheaper option. 13/

Those who are guided by these false beliefs might be inclined to believe oil is the path to prosperity. They might believe that taking another country’s oil will lead to prosperity. The situation is somewhat like taking over another country known for their fine horses… 10/

…just as the automobile is gaining in popularity. Not everyone is capable of seeing where things are going. They cling to the old ways and make up excuses for why it will always be the way it’s been. Oil is on the way out. Renewables are on the way in. 11/

They say ”Drill, baby, drill” to keep gas prices low. But it doesn’t matter how much you drill, if you have to sell the oil for less money than what it cost you to drill, it’s simply not going to work. The real reason gas is cheap is because of wind and solar. 8/

These same people who say “Drill, baby, drill” are the same people trying to stop wind and solar. They are not aware of the realities when it comes to which costs more, renewables or oil, and so are advocating for something that would actually cost them more. 9/

Oil has been the king, the prime driver for powerful economies for so long that many do not recognize the world is moving on. Oil is still important but it’s importance has slipped and will eventually lose it’s relevance. 6/

Every wind farm and every solar farm that goes online drops the price of oil just a little bit more. Those driving gasoline cars should cheer this but most don’t know that without wind and solar, their gas would cost much more. 7/

That’s where we’re headed with renewable energy and fossil fuel. We’ve been on this road for years and it will be years more before the destination is reached. Oil fuels war because it can be loaded into a ship and sent to another country. You can’t do this with sun and wind. 4/

Sunlight and wind is the energy of peace. Oil is the energy of war (because it can be stolen). For many, war and peace are not their primary concerns. Money is their primary motivation. Not everyone who is motivated by money will become rich. Sometimes they make bad decisions and lose money. 5/

As the sheer volume of renewable energy increases, fossil fuel companies need to lower their prices or seek subsidies or special government treatment just to compete. There is a limit to how low a company can go with prices. Too low for too long and the company fails. 3/

AI generated but it says exactly what I’ve been thinking. I wonder how many other people think the same way?

Funny little story. The GOP keeps cancelling US battery factories. Too woke, too green, you get it. So we buy batteries from China. Trump puts tariffs on China to bring manufacturing home. China cuts back on selling batteries to the US. “China can’t do that! Unfair!” That is called poor planning.

If you work your butt off, improving your mind and skills to the point where you find yourself in high demand, you should be rewarded for your efforts. It is my wish you will find a comfortable home in a country that appreciates you.

In the not too distant future the existence of quantum computers will mean anyone will have the ability to hack into your bank account and drain it. They will be able to hack into your crypto account and drain it. One solution is to have a society without the existence of money. Any other ideas?

I wonder how many pro-fossil fuel American consumers understand that by getting rid of wind and solar it would raise the price of fossil fuels. Competition keeps prices low. By getting rid of competition fossil fuel companies can raise prices.

The US has the goal of bringing manufacturing back to the US and ending reliance on other countries for goods. Let’s assume the US accomplishes this goal. Now let’s say the US wants to sell to other countries. To be competitive the US will need the US dollar to be much weaker than it currently is.

If a foreigner holds American assets such as US government bonds, at maturation and conversion into another currency, they could be looking at potentially losing money. The US is making itself un-investible, at least for now.

I love this statement. While I mourn what has been lost, I’m grateful for the clear, calm leadership and I think we will be just fine. We’ll deepen relationships with other countries that believe in treating each other with respect and we’ll be better for it.
