Pure joy. Hey @schiekapedia.bsky.social, just had a reader who bought both issues yesterday come bsck today to tell me he read them last night and loved them. He loved the pages where the action told the story without needless dialogue. He said he'd pause and re-read his favourite pages.

Day 1 of @kelownacomicon.bsky.social in the books. Sold some comics, played D&D on stage with the Dungeon Dudes, Anjali Bhimani and Ty Olsson. Even gave a young TTRPG'er advice on being a Dungeon Master. Not bad for this Canadian kid. Looking forward to meeting more comic book fans tomorrow.

One #makingcomics preference @schiekapedia.bsky.social and I share is that the cover should always reflect the actual story inside. @thistlethecomic.bsky.social Issue One is filled with fire and fantasy. You can buy Issue One now via my Profile. Look for the continuation of the story in 2025...

2022, 30 days before launching my @thistlethecomic.bsky.social Kickstarter I had to pause, rebuild. Next Kickstarter wasn't until 2024, we didn't fund. I printed anyway. #impostersyndrome means easy to think it's long odds of turning this story into a series. So I wore the t-shirt. Let's f- go.

Thistle Issue One is in its final 24 hours. Despite a surge of Backers this past week, we will miss our funding goal unless you (and 100 friends) back us tonight. We are exceptionally proud of the story we created, and we thank every Backer who supported us. www.kickstarter.com/projects/jlc...

This is the final push. In Thistle Issue One you will read how an Elf Ranger survives destruction of all around him, and the loss of those all around him. You can read how he pushes on in the face of hopelessness to seek his victory. You still have time to read that story. Still time for hope.

Thistle Issue One has three days remaining. We have reached 30% funding and attracted a dozen new Backers in a very short period of time. Just like our Elf Ranger Thistle, time is running out. This is for all who support indie comic projects, and want to read our love letter to Sword and Sorcery.

With four days remaining, I don't have to follow the rules. Don't post off-site link on your main post? Whatever. Only post one image not multiple? Here's several pages. Here's art, campaign link, and last call for Backers in one tidy post. Elves, bows, and blood. www.kickstarter.com/projects/jlc...

Four days remain to Back our fantasy survival story about an Elf fighting hordes of undead behind enemy lines. Thistle Issue is live now on Kickstarter. www.kickstarter.com/projects/jlc...

Enjoyed helping @kurtsasso.bsky.social break the mold on his own show with four geeks talking. Kurt asked great questions about surviving the indie comics scene and surviving life. We're in the final five days and we won't reach our funding goal unless more Backers find us. Please quote or share

Actually, fun fact, I've had five to six geeks on the show at one time. It was Geektacular :) Besides, that history nugget. It was great having you all on the show and a great comic that needs to be funded. More eyes needed on this.

Watch our comic creators @digitalcollins.bsky.social , @schiekapedia.bsky.social and Leland Bjerg make their final pitch for Thistle Issue One in this detailed interview with Two Geeks Talking. Five days remain to support this beautiful and deadly fantasy comic book. youtu.be/F0iU591EDOg?...
