When I say I love Cheesecake Factory, I mean this cat who was found malnourished and wandering through a Bay Area mall parking lot. Cheesecake Factory has since been rescued and nursed back to health. He's now healthy, vaxxed, & sweet, but still needs a loving home www.petfinder.com/cat/cheeseca...

Women In Love (1969). If Oliver Reed wasn’t already dealing with a mocking mother and disappearing newlyweds in the family pond and running his inherited coal mine like Mr Potter from Bedford Falls, then there’s a chance he could have realized happiness was throwing him around the living room.📽️

boxd.itA ★★★★½ review of Women in Love (1969)“What is the charge? Wrestling a pal? A hirsute attractive pal?” Ken Russell, you were really getting away with something in 1969.  It’s so easy to simmer down this film to little more than an excuse ...

Folks can keep running away from it, but Matthew 25:31-46 never tires and will inevitably catch up.

are your neighbors well? are you perusing peace? are your hands to the plow of love? are you diligent to the care of the creation? are you careful? thoughtful? considerate? do you give a single damn? These are the questions at the heart of the Gospel

We did three things this weekend that were restorative to my soul: Heartbeat Opera’s drag opera extravaganza, the 5th floor of MOMA, and the Krasner / Pollock show at the Met. I recommend all three to anyone who sees the sharks circling actual human art and needs to be reminded that we will win.

Second Soul-Restoring Recommendation: The Fifth Floor of the MOMA is their 1880 to 1950 collection, an actually overwhelming collecting of Greatest Hits that just kept bringing me face to face with works of art that are ubiquitous through culture, but rarely met.

Mass Effect (the whole series) was the best sci-fi movie I’ve ever played.

As a tribute to BioWare (we all know that Mass Effect will return in some form), my long article on the design process for the Normandy is available to everyone.

Everyone in our Protect the Harvest delegation has been released. The Israelis who were with us have also received 15-30 day bans from the West Bank, which unfortunately means they will be unable to participate in the olive harvest.

This is what walking the walk looks like.

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention.

I did not want to see You Can See Everything (2026). Heard about it and was repelled immediately. What would even be the point? I could not have been more wrong. I can’t recall the last time I set my expectations so incredibly low only to have them exceeded beyond measure.📽️

New Yorkers have waited their entire lives for tonight: when the Knicks championship banner will be raised into the rafters of Madison Square Garden. What a testament to the incredible 2025-26 Knicks and the city that stood alongside them every step of the way. LGK.

“Since the incident, the flamingo has been doing all right physically but is more anxious and nervous when being evaluated, said Peachy’s veterinarian, Tiffany Moore, medical director of Lone Mountain Animal Hospital.” Justice for Peachy 🦩

About three weeks into off-and-on playing 007 First Light, and while it can be way too on-rails at times (all the time), it has some really charming moments. Like Q walking a young James Bond through tying a bow tie, finishing with using the two PS5 joysticks to pull it tight.

Tbh, @emilyhughes.bsky.social could very well save Mike Flanagan’s life with this (surgically perfect) review. After all, there’s still time for him to back down from mid-adapting Warhammer 40k and thus avoiding a “horrible accident” involving several gallons of miniature paint.
