My mom sometimes tells me that she doesn't need to wash her greens because "I know the farmers, they don't use chemicals, and you can watch them pick it" and I'm like "okay but was it in the dirt? I would like to wash off the dirt please."

People occasionally try to explain the capsule wardrobe philosophy to me and how it's all your clothes go together and you have infinite outfits out of very few clothes. Which I sort of understand, but I just have a lot of clothes with all the same colors. So I have it halfway there?

I'm happy with my choices except when I do six loads of laundry in one day and still have more dirty clothes (actually sheets) and have several loads of laundry to to fold in my bedroom.

They should cast James Macavoy as Bond. And then as the Magician in a couple years when they reboot Narnia. They shoud just keep casting James Macavoy as parts Daniel Craig played.

Between Severence, Ted Lasso, Widows Bay, Shrinking and Small Prophets (I am probably missing something, Apple really has the market cornered on "sad guys doing something weird."

Literally divide yourself in half, go coach a sport you don't understand across the ocean, be slightly manic on a haunted island, be a weird shrink, grow homunculi in your backyard. Be sad. Excellent TV, apparently.

There is 100% lettuce in my fridge older than her career.

BREAKING NYT: Trump's new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, was fired Friday, after less than a week on the job, according to three people familiar with the matter.

2026 is going into the new bakery, looking at a sandwich I will never order and thinking "Wow, $12 for a ham and butter sandwich seems extremely reasonable." How did we get here?

Whoever is running the social media for Wicker is doing an excellent job. I saw a TikTok ad that was set to Taylor Swift's Wood and I nearly applauded to my cell phone.

It is devilish of Amazon streaming to give you the first season of a show and then put the rest behind a new subscription. I mean, it's British, I can watch the rest with the free week, but I'm mad.

This morning, I saw a truck unloading flour into the bakery that has been teasing me with "coming soon" for a year across the streat from my office. So maybe they are opening soon? I just want French pastries across the street.

There are a lot of misses with the top 100 shows, but putting two comedies run by and starring women in the top ten was a good choice. And 30 Rock and Fleabag are elite and deserve to be there.

I am glad that I have the kind of family where when my dad is coming to town we say "let's make sure we have a bottle of bubbly in the fridge in case It happens while dad is visiting" because I know he keeps one in his fridge for that same event.

If I had a nickel for every time I saw a cat die humorously on stage this season, I would have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

It ys difficulte to descrybe what a worlde-changing revelacioun it was to listen to Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos for the firste tyme. Portable cassette playere. Viewe out of a bus wyndow. And that piano. That voyce. A beautiful hurricane and a terrifyinge lullabye and jokes and dreames and love.

It would be really funny if James MacAvoy is the next James Bond. I mean, he's too old and famous and probably doesn't want it, but he's already picked up a Daniel Craig role so it would just be hilarious.

I have been watching, for almost a year, an empty space across the street from office slowly transform into a bakery. I cannot understand this business model. I know how much the condos above it cost, they have to be hemorraging money. And I just want their bread.

Remember when rich people built things instead of slapping their names on things that already existed and then tearing them down if they couldn't put their names on them? What a stupid time we are in.

My controversial food opinion is that no one had digital scales in their kitchen until very recently and everyone needs to calm down about baking. All our grandma recipes are full of "add flour until it turns the color of pale coffee and your spoon is about to break" or whatever not "407 grams."
