Elizabeth Holmes whistleblower Tyler Shultz:"We told people they had HIV or cancer when they did not, expecting mothers they'd lost their unborn child when they had not.” In Arizona alone, about 175,000 patients took Theranos tests—and ten percent were later voided or corrected.

The conservative Manhattan Institute reports that almost 4 in 10 Republicans believe the Holocaust was greatly exaggerated or did not happen -- and MOST Republican men under 50 (54%) are Holocaust deniers.

Its new voter-suppression ruling to influence the midterms proves Trump's Supreme Court really is the #FascistRevolutionaryGuardCourt . SCOTUS refuses to justify its decisions with actual arguments or signed arguments. As the Auschwitz guard told Primo Levi, "Here there is no why."

Fourteen years ago, HBO's 'The Newsroom' laid out the truth about voter ID in this segment. It’s striking how little the arguments — or the tactics — have changed. Still a solution in search of a problem. History doesn’t repeat itself — it gets rerun.

Darline Graham says government run health care is "a bad idea," because her mom died when she was 11 and her dad a year or so later. Proving that not having govt health care is great! If you want dead parents dead ASAP!

“My parents died so fuck yours too,” is quite the argument against reasonable healthcare

Krugman on Hitler's Nero Decree "to destroy Germany’s infrastructure, to punish the German people for failing him. How much damage will Trump do taking revenge on America? Trump hates America, democracy, rule of law. He just plain hates this country because it doesn’t love him."

Ballou on Epstein Files Hearing: There were just long periods of silence in the courtroom as the DOJ struggled to articulate why it couldn’t follow the law here. I had never really been in a hearing like that, where one side was just silent on their own arguments…

Last year ICE said a man tried to murder a female ICE officer while she was trying to arrest him. They swore under oath he grabbed her by the neck and tried to choke her to death. He was even indicted for attempted murder. Problem is, it never happened! Bystander video unraveled the lie.

nebraskapublicmedia.orgA Venezuelan man was accused of attempting to choke an ICE officer to death in Bellevue. Bystander video tells a different storyGabriel Hurtado-Cariaco was referred to by DHS as a “criminal illegal alien” and a “known Tren de Aragua terrorist.” The agency said he “violently attacked an ICE agent” by slamming her head into the ...

Scott Atlas, a one-man National Institute for Death and Ignorance, advocates killing the National Institutes of Health. Atlas wanted "herd immunity" during covid. He tried to kill as many as 2 million Americans with fake science. A small price to pay for protecting Trump from justice!

Alysa Liu's victory is a good time to point out that, despite Dave Barry's mockery, "MacArthur Park" is NOT a nonsense song--it's about a cake the songwriter really saw in the rain in the park by the apartment of the love of his life whose elusiveness was breaking his heart.

“The President of the United States is a criminal. He’s not just a convicted criminal. He should have been convicted for the crimes he led on January 6th. He is running the government like a mob operation.“

HAPPENING NOW: In federal court in MN, DOJ is struggling to articulate why a person following an ICE vehicle — so long as they are obeying traffic laws — can be stopped for "reasonable suspicion" of a crime. Judge Menendez sharply questioning that contention.

An undeclared, unprovoked, and illegal war designed to, well, we can only guess—though Donald Trump and JD Vance have seemed to concede this was a war for oil—puts the United States on the same moral and legal footing as Russia, which invaded its neighbor in a war of pure aggression.

contrarian.substack.com/p/headfirst-... wtf just happened? The Contrarian explains

1. Bari Weiss’s CBS works for Ellisons and Trump. 2.They report on the world as corrupt billionaires want you to see it. 3. Their contempt for you is infinite. 4. They're America's deadliest enemies ever. 5. They despise truth, and think they can impose a fascist future on you.

“We are not out to score points with one side of the political spectrum," said Bari Weiss, whose pert nose then grew and punched right through the window of the CBS Black Rock Building.

!! Here’s a link to full video of the 60 Minutes segment that Bari Weiss killed last minute, via @jasonparis.bsky.social: is.gd/paU8Ko (It was uploaded to the Global TV app in Canada, seemingly by accident, and has now been taken down)

When a major media outlet openly capitulates to the political agenda of the executive branch, they are no longer part of the fourth estate. They are state-run media. Add Bari Weiss and CBS to the list of those who have betrayed our Republic.

Lord knows I'm not a fan of any of this corporate media consolidation — Netflix and Paramount both should be barred from buying WBD. But in terms of sending a message, would be stellar if everyone watched Good Night and Good Luck on Netflix together next Sunday when 60 Minutes is on the air.

To be fair, Bari Weiss and Olivia Nuzzi do feel an overwhelming sense of responsibility to the Father of Lies.

Ned Resnikoff@resnikoff.bsky.social

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

Firesign Theatre's David Ossman notes: Tom Stoppard, RIP. He...and Peter Bergman were together at a "literary colloquium" in Berlin. Tom went home with R&G Are Dead, and Pete brought Waiting for the Electrician back to LA. Couple of natural surrealists.

There must be an effective Boycott Fascists app, so that zero dollars from Trump-victim Americans go to businesses and institutions that menace us (& democracy, rule of law, science, public health, free speech, prosperity, America's power in the world & reason itself) more with each passing day.

Republican Presidential speechwriter David Frum: Trump's tariffs are reducing supply and raising real costs of almost every good in the economy. It's like what OPEC did to the United States in 1973-75, only this time it's the US president doing it to his own country.
