We see time and time again, that the Albanese Labor government comes to take money from the poor, the sick, the elderly, the disabled and the vulnerable, but won't touch the rich. This is a very right wing government.

Unbelievable how tone deaf our mediocre PM is with his cosying up to the #PedoInChief here. #auspol

I agree that the author has not picked the key priorities. But the broader point remains; this a government with the political capital to take on a whole menu of reforms in the national interest. But it is tinkering, while ensuring that that no powerful lobby group or party donor is left behind.

A good aspiration that “You can’t let bad people win”. But no-one in authority seems to want to take on the bad people running legacy and social media, who use hate as a business model. #auspol

The USA can’t be trusted anymore but it’s the waste, fraud and abuse being perpetrated by our own politicians that is the most galling. More so when AUKUS spending can’t be questioned while being told increased spending on essential services for Australians is unsustainable.

The sad thing is that not a single SpaceX employer will resign in disgust. Not a single greedy investor will rethink their participation to SpaceX financing. Not a single government will make Musk a Persona non grata or remove his citizenship. The world is doomed to become a set of Nazi fiefdoms.

Big Tech used to make glib promises about sustainability and moving towards a greener future. But today, Google is using more energy than ever—they added one New Zealand's worth of energy consumption between this year and last.

Good on them. Folks should walk out of every room where the genocide flag is shown, just as they would if the old Nazi symbols were proudly shown.

Floods don’t ask for your passport. Droughts don’t care about your politics. Heatwaves don’t check your race or income. Climate change is the definition of a global crisis. It will only be solved by global leadership that puts people and planet above short-term politics. Let’s demand it.

This would also help bolster the trade pipeline. Departments like Public Works would employ large nos of apprentices in the knowledge that many of these would move into the private market as tradies. When these depts became contract managers, not builders, these reliable pipelines were lost.
