Iβm furious because we have had to spend so many goddamn hours responding thoroughly to endless procedural inquiries from the damn NPC and they just decide to ignore and move the goalposts like always because itβs not about a real commitment to BDS or convention, itβs a petty revenge fantasy

This is thrilling and didn't happen by accident. In 2023 we ended 30 minute waits on nights and weekends, and ever since, BART weekend ridership has been climbing, faster than weekday ridership. I championed this change for two years before staff made it happen, and it's worked as we had hoped.
Happy Monday! More promising Bay Area transit ridership news - Oct 2026 BART weekend ridership was 97.2% of pre-pandemic levels (vs Oct 2019) - and Sunday ridership is now above 2019 levels at 102.9%! My math below - check for yourself at www.bart.gov/news/article...

it's really funny and also messed up that this article quotes opponents saying that valley link should be cancelled to help the budget and they dont mention anywhere that valley link is a CAPITOL PROJECT NOT OPERATIONS ITS NOT THE SAME MONEY journalists PLEASE push back on this stuff
Bay Area residents take 1M+ trips every weekday on our four largest transit systems β to get to work, school & everywhere in between. We canβt let devastating cuts take that away. Iβm voting YES on the Regional Transit Measure to keep our region moving. www.sfgate.com/news/bayarea...

Ballhalla has become a nationally-celebrated phenomenon, but something's missing from the headlines: GSV's founding support by queer fans like Cheryl & Deb Espinosa-Jones, who embraced the WNBA as Deb battled terminal cancer. I wrote about her legacy & the "full blown lesbian history" of Ballhalla:

This @sfchronicle.com analysis seems extremely deficient & full of holes. Beyond that this UC Davis researcher quote is borderline offensive. COVID wasn't an example, it was a warning. Traffic fatalities spiked from 2020-2023. People were only able to stay home b/c of massive federal subsidies.
To better understand how proposed BART cuts could impact regional traffic, the Chronicle teamed up with researchers to simulate three possible scenarios for the morning commute.
yeah bullshit the right is more pro housing than the left unless your exclusively interviewing developers theres no way this is true
New paper surveys thousands of residents in six cities (Berlin, Chicago, London, Los Angeles, New York, and Paris) and finds that centrists/moderates are the most anti-housing development www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
the bay area tech sphere is so deeply unwell in ways most people just would understand
Roose does a very nice job signaling in the second paragraph what sort of book this will be. He decided to write it the night after partying with ketamine-snorting effective accelerationists. He isnβt e/acc himself, but he hangs with that crowd and accepts their premises as newsworthy,

Just insane. Possible clinching WNBA game of championships starts at 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time on a weekday β in competition with soap operas and βCaillouβ β because teams keep planning on their own players not making the Finals. (And when they DO succeed a regular season MNBA game takes priority.)
Valkyries vs Dream Game 6 will be at 12:30pm eastern at State Farm Arena, according to ESPN
