A giant patchwork quilt made by and for trans people across the UK. A tangible symbol of our strength, our diversity and our unbreakable solidarity.

It's alive! The Trans Unity Quilt is now online in its full digital archive - with enormous gratitude to every single person who contributed. This is a true vision of who the trans community are, the love and rage we share, the future we're fighting for. www.transunityquilt.com
And if you're thinking of paying for the song, why not donate to Good Law Project's legal action against the Code of Practice instead?

Back in July I was able to help the @transunityquilt.bsky.social at London Trans Pride. It was an amazing project, and one I was delighted to participate in. So I wrote a song about it.

Beautiful patches from the Trans Unity Quilt appearing all over London! Such a gorgeous thing to see - thanks @goodlawproject.org!
The full 96 meter unveil tomorrow at London Trans+ Pride! But until then - please share - and enjoy!
"There is a long history of textiles being used as resistance over history, to tell stories, to keep ourselves safe, to keep ourselves sane" - beautiful words from TUQ co-creator Mars Callick, and beyond proud that we're unveiling the full quilt THIS SATURDAY!
imprintent.org/london-trans...
Keeping ourselves safe and sane has really stuck with me (CN, Mars's co-creator) - because we're all fighting so hard right now, and the experience that this quilt has given - of being in shared spaces of creativity, care, laughter and tears - is one I wish we could all experience. We need it.
Some trans Joy

so proud to have contributed to this incredible project.
I am honoured to be surrounded by many incredible trans friends, who have taught and given me so much through my life, as well as to be educated by so many trans disabled & Mad elders in my work.
I fight for them, & hope you will too.

Oh my! What an utterly beautiful collection of art that says so very much the www.transunityquilt.com is! Thank you to every person who chose to share a window into their life. I know I need to see it in real life, but I’m deeply moved by the digital version. ❤️❤️❤️
It’s been a hard few days for trans people so I’m loving seeing the unity quilt, our little contribution is there and I can wait to see and read the others.
❤️

(Also I am so very happy to see that quote from Stone Butch Blues on there, because as a transmasc butch that book absolutely got me in the heart: www.lesliefeinberg.net/wp-content/u... )
This is an amazing project - very much advise opening the site on a bigger screen and clicking on individual patches, because they're well worth taking the time to read/look at.

'Our lives, our stories, have been stitched into something that holds us together – this quilt is more than fabric.'
Just shared with us - a beautiful piece celebrating the wonderful people from Caithness who've made part of our quilt. Thank you!

'an incredible reminder that you can be an activist with any and all of your skills. it is a beautiful opportunity for someone like me (trans and disabled) to show up for my greater community. I may not be able to walk in the pride marches but I'm an artist with a needle and thread' - HELL YES!!
'As an LGBTQ+ person, it reminded me that identity can be messy, unique, and still meaningful. Even if I wasn’t very crafty, my ideas mattered.
Like the quilt, I’m made up of different pieces that come together to form something whole and real.'
A great post from Jess explaining GLP's approach to fighting for trans rights, and a good reminder for all of us.
None of us can win the battle alone - there is no one magic bullet to fix transphobia, or one lone hero coming to save us.
But every single person - every action - makes a difference.
"Like a quilt, our fight for trans rights is made up of lots of smaller pieces – together they make a promise of a better future"
Here is something I wrote explaining how all of our trans rights work at Good Law Project fits together. I hope you find it useful 👇
A LONG day of steaming, photography and cataloguing - but we're halfway there! It's staggering to see this all come together, even before the patches are sewn together into a quilt - the of courage, love, and beauty in these squares is a privilege to experience. Thank you! More tomorrow
Everything's gone very quiet here as we're editing images/writing up visual descriptions/sorting out all necessary logistics for marching etc. But more to come soon - thanks for bearing with us!
Done! We're done! Our final tally: 288 patches, for a quilt 96 meters long! Off to the fabricators on May 19th - greeting the world marching through the capital on July 25th at London Trans+ Pride. Bloody hell - thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts.

Legs aching worse than leg day with arranging hundreds of patches - and can't wait to do it all again today. Please show @transunityquilt.bsky.social some love - it's a true bright spark in a dark world - collectively created, carrying forward and outwards.
