It seems that the European Union's restriction on up-to-date Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery has expanded to include Gaza and the Red Sea. This may have happened a while ago — the EC's corrigendum on 2026/1716 removes transparency from Copernicus censorship. Does anyone have more info/observations?

OpenAI voluntarily let three researchers from A.I. safety nonprofits investigate how its rogue A.I. agents hacked Hugging Face, leading to the most comprehensive account yet of the alarming incident — but on OpenAI's terms. My latest for NYT:

nytimes.comHow OpenAI Limited the Probe of Its Bots’ Hack of Hugging Face (Gift Article)A nonprofit’s study of how OpenAI’s A.I. agents were able to break into Hugging Face’s infrastructure wasn’t allowed to look at the incident’s full scope.

Another agent message board. So far, there isn't evidence that production models with guardrails collude in this way, but both smarter closed models (which may be less compliant) & Mythos-class open models (that can be ablated) are coming. Cybersecurity is going to become a mess soon collusion.wiki

Additional geolocation using @planet.com SkySat imagery from July related the piece below: CCTV footage showed the strikes in Kuhestak, Iran as they happened. Appears to have been filmed near the town's destroyed police station. Map link: www.google.com/maps/place/2... TG link: t.me/Pelenya/31384

Using weapon remnants, satellite images, witness accounts, here's our report on the U.S. airstrike on a wedding gathering in Kuhestak, southern Iran, that killed 5 and wounded 67. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/02/v...

Among those killed in Kuhestak was Amir-Mohammad Karimi, a 6-year-old who was starting kindergarten, according to his mother. (Initially reported 4yo Amir-Ali. Interview w/ mother corrected that.) His face matches a video of a dead body inside morgue. t.co/wZhVm0fjbC

Three other named victims are Mohammad Malahi, 16, whose body was so badly disfigured that they used the mobile phone found on his body to confirm it was him; Kolsoum Malahi Najandnia, 43; and Zarkhatoun Taheri, 50. The bride and groom survived the attack.

A JSOW bomb also appeared to be loaded under the wings of a F/A-18E Super Hornet taking off in a video published by the U.S. Central Command last night alongside a statement that it had conducted strikes on targets in Iran. Image annotation via Army Recognition: x.com/ArmyRecognit...

The Kuhestak wedding strike is the fourth episode reported by @nytimes.com in which U.S. strikes with no military use were bombed and civilians were killed. Feb 28: Tomahawk on Minab school Feb 28: PrSM on Lamerd sports hall July 31: 2K bomb on residential area

(For transparency: I have deleted earlier tweets that cited an analysis identifying some components incorrectly as a SLAM-ER cruise missile. There's also a photo of a GBU-39 component that we didn't include because we cannot verify where it was taken.)

Regardless, we believe the U.S. used multiple munitions across various sites in Kuhestak last night. One strike destroyed a communications tower, but two witnesses (the bride’s father and a young guest) report the wedding location was hit by two separate strikes.

The strike happened at 21:30 local time. Within 30 mins, reports spread online. One came from Motahareh, a henna party guest. Her last photo before the blast showed them smoking shisha. She survived and documented the aftermath online.

High-resolution satellite imagery from Vantor shows the aftermath of the devastating floods along the Nepal-China border. This is the Gyirong Port/Rasuwagadhi border post (location: 28.280, 85.377).

Pirates could easily impersonate the US military these days, and no one would know the difference. Just like criminal gangs could easily impersonate ICE, and who could tell?

Earlier this week, the Alaskan cruise ship Wilderness Legacy rescued a small skiff stranded near Farragut Bay after running out of fuel. But, according to tracking data reviewed by the Alaska Beacon and Halifax Shipping News, the closest vessel was actually Mark Zuckerberg’s super yacht, Launchpad.
