The thinnest skinned man alive (who is also the most traffic cone coloured man of all time) is whining that Canada isn't taking his little temper tantrums seriously. C'mon USA, burp him and send him to bed already. He's up past his bedtime.

Is it possible to be more juiceless than this

This is - unfortunately - the coolest year we will experience for the coming century or two, bar any so far unknown to science phenomenon.

He'll spend more time onboard planes than actually trekking around in the forest, or carving a spoon, but Matthew doesn't mind. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and well worth it. Personally, I am impressed he did the trip and maybe he saw something that makes him want to come back.

@vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu Time to step up where the USA is vacating. Canada has always been a friend of Europe. Time to welcome them home, with open arms, to the community of Europeans. Time to show that in the time of need, Europe stands with Canada.

Andrew Weinstein@andrewjweinstein.com

The United States and Canada have been friends, partners, and allies for more than 150 years across 32 presidential administrations. And now, solely because of the arrogance, incompetence, and ego of the current occupant of the White House, that relationship is being driven straight toward a cliff.

Yes, we're playing Jönköping in October, but the show is already sold out, I'm afraid. I would definitely love to play more Swedish dates, though. We always have such fun audiences there!

So, the youngest (13) went in to school today by bus. So far, so good. He got there. Coming home, slightly different. He made it out to the busstop and just got on the first bus that showed up. 🙄 That bus happened to go to Lomträsk, which is nowhere near where we live. The busdriver drove him home

anyway, but he arrived home 45 minutes later than he should have. And for 40 minutes, we had no f...ing idea where he was, what had happened or if he was okay. I could not get a location fix on his phone. Excuse me while I go scream into a pillow for an hour or two.

This is just the thing. Methane will hang around in the atmosphere for half a century or so. Carbon Dioxide, centuries. Water vapours - depends on how warm the planet is. The CO2 problem isn't just a problem *now*, it will be a problem 250 years from now. Maybe longer. *Probably* longer.

And if they are spending *that long* tidying up *our* mess, they will not be saying nice things about the people living between 1850 to 2050 in history books (if there even are any) in 500 years time. They will be talking about us much the same way we talk about the village idiots from the 1100's.

If we cared about our descendents even the slightest, a moratorium on fossil fuels and taking to task the biggest polluters to make them actually pay for the damage they are causing - the economy be damned - would be the first thing to do.

So if we say that a generation is, on average, 25 years. 250 years is ten generations. Though, from what I've read, forcasts have talked about further out still before values come down to a *reasonable* point, like 4-500 years. That's 16-20 generations.

Weather.. Seems like we've been stuck in a loop of low pressures and rain for a couple weeks now. And it's beginning to show. South of us, there's flooding and an orange warning. The river is now visible from the house. If that's the river, or just flooding. Not been down to check.

Colloquialisms.. Can the hivemind give me clarity on a phrase I just used? "I've had better afternoons in a nunnery." Does that ring a bell with anyone? I'd like to know who used it first and where to give credit. 😂

X and Meta needs to be shown the door in EU. Both have been caught interfering in elections (Meta with Cambridge Analytica, X by stacking the algorithm to hide most anything except the extreme right). They are not companies conducive to actual democracy. @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu

In 2027 Italy, Spain, Poland, and France will go to the polls. We all know that Musk will abuse X to help far-right parties win in Europe because he wants to destroy the EU. Isn’t it time to ban X in the EU? Or are you fine with the far right taking over the EU? For God's sake, wake up, #EU!

*ROFL* Trump doesn't do himself any favours. He acts like a clown and gets upset when people then - justifiably - extracts the urine out of him. It never occurs to him that if he stopped clowning around and acting like a humongous asshole, there would be nothing to take the piss out of.

When an AI company's security tool "escapes containment" and hacks someone else's servers, we need to ask the company "Why do you suck so bad at building secure sandboxes for your hacking tools?" rather than "Why are your hacking tools so amazingly powerful?" 24/

We can now clearly state the American model is a failed one, it's a failed state. "Fascism is the merger of Government and Corporate power" - Benito Mussolini. The new Social Democracy(Democratic Socialism) movement is a counterreaction to all this, hopefully it will be enough to save our Country.

We're witnessing the culminating rot of shareholder capitalism in real time. Some of the most powerful corporations in America have sided with an authoritarian regime in order to protect their short term profits — the fundamental rights of everyone else be damned. Remember this.
