It's honestly been a real headfuck at my age to find out I was right as a feral teen listening to too much Dead Kennedys and powerful executives really do love fascism.

That this is in THE WASHINGTON POST is almost too much irony to bear.

If we take him at his word—that this was the result of political manipulation*—then the man and his brother bishops are simply too innocent and trusting to have the jobs they do and must be reassigned to positions more fitting to their capacities. *why're they praying over Trump with Paula, tho?

I hadn't realized until today that Larry Kudlow converted to Catholicism on his third wife under the auspices of the DC Opus Dei sexual harasser priest who also brought in Sam Brownback, Newt Gingrich, and countless other monsters.

The way pundits talk about "most Americans" is how an average Joe talks about zoo animals, extremely patronizing and also almost entirely wrong

on some level, this is just a form of anti-politics.

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

every now & then someone on the anti-trans side will get cold feet about how openly ugly it's all getting—they want to keep the image of a nice, sensible centrist but it's never enough for them to get off the train

My uni’s chapter of Mortar Board had a faculty and staff appreciation dinner tonight. Students explained why they honored particular people. I teared up in front of a room of a hundred or so people. It’s easy to forget how much what we do can make a difference in people’s lives.

Going to an event tonight with a "business casual" dress request. This has to be one of the more stupid designations of style. Also, I have led my entire life so as to have nothing much to do with business: otium, baby.

I really commend this paper to anyone interested in modelling as a key tool in scientific methodology. On the general: it is a wholly compelling proposal for the enrichment that can come from looking at humanity from the perspectives of different, separated fields of study.

Sarah Klein@saklein.bsky.social

A principal aim of my newest paper is to find and cultivate solidarity between fields with diverse epistemic histories, instruments, and frameworks. I attempt to do so by locating methodological (experiential, processual) parallels between practices of experimental theater and formal modeling.

Utterly shameless.

What the Attorney General of the United States seems to not understand, but the people who matter do, is that Congress hasn’t given DOJ any authority to block states from certifying the election. This isn’t a thing. And we don’t have to pretend it’s a thing just because he says it’s a thing.

🚨🚨🚨 Q: Is there any scenario in which DOJ would try to block states from certifying the election? AG TODD BLANCHE: Yes, of course. It is not DOJ's intention to improperly interfere with elections or the state certification process, but ...
