Trump's kinda guy.
"If the country is incapable of letting its citizens know whether or not its foreign policy is for sale, the difference between a democratic republic and the secretive autocracy that tried to influence it will be much narrower than most of us would like to think."

Calls for a thorough investigation to say the least.
🗳️ Trump’s DOJ claimed — without evidence — that more than 400 noncitizens voted in Washington, ordering the state to set aside their ballots.
But the state’s top election official noted there have been only 15 documented cases of illegal voting there since 1982: https://demdock.com/4stP13B
Anthropic's IPO filing yesterday revealed at least* $550bn in off-balance sheet debt, for a company with $16B in annual revenue. Paying its bills will require Anthropic to sustain implausible revenue growth given the pressures that are squeezing their--and the whole AI ecosystem's--margins. A 🧵
I wrote last week about how much debt there is in the AI ecosystem and how much of that is off AI companies' balance sheets. The upshot of that is that they will need to increase revenues at an unreal pace to pay their fast-mounting bills. That looks increasingly unlikely.

Just 9 tech giants have racked up $3.7 trillion dollars in debt, most of it hidden off their balance sheets. The hidden debt alone ($3.1 trillion) is significantly bigger than the amount of subprime mortgage debt outstanding at its pre-2008 peak.

Importantly, Hutchinson was also the one who said Trump dismissed concerns about weapons in the Jan 6 crowd because he knew they weren’t going to target him.
Chairman Jordan attacked her and demanded to know what role she played in the investigation. Smith was puzzled; he said none, because her relevant testimony was almost all hearsay. I think the President was mad about his supposed fight with the driver who wouldn’t take him to the Capitol.

I emailed Patrick Healy, assistant managing editor for standards and trust at NYT, to ask why their story about a House report with new details of rape allegations against the President of the United States included neither those details, nor a single use of the word "rape."

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
There are credible allegations of rape against the president, and evidence his administration has taken steps to cover up his relationship with the world's most notorious pedophile.
This story is being covered more aggressively by People Magazine than the NY Times, Wash Post, or Wall St Journal.
1. Not sure when a new, on-the-record rape allegation against a sitting president isn’t considered news — especially considering Trump was found liable by a jury in a similar case — but it was ignored by most mainstream media outlets

If we look at what Russia is doing on the ground every day, I don't think there's anything to suggest that peace is what they're seeking. What they're seeking is submission."
Swedish PM Ulf Kristersson:
"I think the key must be to support Ukraine. Peace must be on Ukraine's terms. Peace must be achieved from a position of strength, not by appeasing Russia.
If talks lead to that, then talks are a good thing.
UPDATE: Trump’s DOJ is fighting to send armed agents back to the homes of naturalized citizens to ask about their voter eligibility.
This comes after a lower court blocked the armed visits in 9 states.

To reiterate: his direct family, official US documents, AND the medical experts who evaluated him are all saying that Phillip James is a Florida-born man who is suffering from schizophrenic delusions... but DHS disagrees.
There are strong claims that ICE has been detaining an American citizen who was born in Florida. Phillip James, 39, has been detained for at least 10 months. He's currently in Indiana facing deportation to Jamaica. 🧵

The Department of Justice (DOJ) claims a legal doctrine that courts should avoid last-minute changes to election rules to avoid confusion isn’t relevant to its effort to bar California from counting the votes of 20,000 people on a list of alleged noncitizens. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
🚨BREAKING: The Trump administration asked Washington to set aside ballots from around 400 registered voters it claims may be noncitizens.
The alarming request comes amid the DOJ's legal effort to compel California to do the same to 20k voters.
But isn't Microsoft a big AI company? I was told that AI would make everybody wealthy and happy. Is AI...taking people's jobs?
Because that would be really bad. If that were the case Microsoft would probably try to keep it secret, maybe by offering tens of thousands of workers "buyouts."

West Virginia has been part of a nationwide push, partially funded by billionaire-backed political groups, to use taxpayer dollars to fund private schools.
Among the proponents are the Koch family network and Pennsylvania billionaire Jeffrey Yass.
Why it matters: Attorney General Todd Blanche says “a number of states” could be next.
If the DOJ succeeds here, voters elsewhere could see the same playbook used to stop their ballots from being counted.
