Part of my literal job is to fly out to physical game studios to rescue and recover historical materials that might be endangered and put them in a permanent archive. @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social is a 501(c)3 publicly funded to do that, my DMs are open, and I'm free for the next couple weeks...

This gets said constantly, but it worth reiterating: Games Workshop being bigger than fishing is important to shout about because you wouldn't know it from government talking points, which are rarely about anything creative or artistic. Growth won't involve fish or steel, it will involve goblins.

The game that I bought an Xbox for! It's a really solid game, with great combat design. You can only slay a vampire by staking, even if their health to 0, and if you mistime it they counter! Likewise, they must successfully bite you to finish you off. This adds a lot of tension to the combat.

This post is unavailable.

Also, a wide array of improvised weapons, and some clever environmental kill possibilities, give the player a lot of avenues for recreating their favorite moments from the show. Definitely worth a play if you never caught it the first time around.

Reminder that this might be the last month i can take orders if you had your eye on some #miniatures. Reckon it'll take two months to sell the range & machinery off & empty the workshop, and my financial year ends on Oct 31st. People just aren't buying enough and my wife needs me to care for her

Looking forward to hearing @channel4tv.bsky.social justify this unfathomably reckless and damaging title, let alone anything else. The journalistic equivalent of throwing a hornet's nest into an A&E ward, to 'raise awareness of injuries'.

Only just found out about this For the record, you don't get multiple genetic markers and one of the most effective medications known to science with 'social constructs' Channel 4, this is, in scientific parlance, an absolute fu*king disgrace that will genuinely endanger lives #c4 #ADHD

As I put the finishing touches to my talk for #developbrighton, I'm looking for stories from developers, of the most exceptional or outlandish things that players have done to show their love for your game. Was it unhinged fan art, multi-volume fanfic, tattoos, themed weddings..?! #gamedev

Little bit emotional this one - the first ever game I made as an indie has been re-released and finally finished with its last bit of content after 6 years. Go give it a spin, it was my entire world for many years. Full credit to the superb team who worked on it. Go look through those credits!

Tributary Games@tributarygames.bsky.social

Six years ago a Choices Matter game called Over the Alps released. Stave was formed to make it, it became an Apple Arcade launch title, and it won a few awards. Part of that team went on to Tributary, and when Stave closed we couldn't just let it vanish. So... Re-introducing, OVER THE ALPS! 🧵

Boxroom is coming out on the 11th (tomorrow)! It’s been in release limbo for nearly a month through zero fault of the devs, and from experience that can rough up a game launch. So please, support a fellow indie, give them your support and shout about it!!! store.steampowered.com/app/4335460/...

As the son of a librarian, it's very, very hard for me to put a book in the trash. It's just wrong on a fundamental level. Stuff goes for donation no matter what. However, when I found a Scott Adams book (a gift from my dad 30 years ago) while packing up to move, I made an exception.

100% truth, worth a read.

I've been running an indie games studio for 15 years now, and it felt like a good time to boil down what I've learned into 4 pieces of advice: www.pentadact.com/2026-01-08-1... I hope it's of use, not least because goddamn I forgot how long blog posts take to write.
