I missed Jack Tame's intro of the guy from the American Economic Institute. Did he describe him accurately as a far right activist and lobbyist? Or did he give him legitimacy by calling him a think tank rep? #nzpol

PEOPLE ARE DYING IN THE CORRIDORS OF OUR HOSPITALS. CHILDREN AREN'T GETTING NECESSARY CANCER TREATMENT. Can we please stop talking about gangs and focus on the real issues affecting us! The media once again hijacking the narrative for the right wing.

Thomas Coughlan turned up very late to a political event in Tฤmaki where Chris Hipkins was speaking. Unlike other journalists, he took no notes, and when his phone was out, it was to play word games and scroll messages. No wonder his columns are so ill-informed. #nzpol

The disservice to NZ public was on full display. No mention of the overwhelming concern amongst the crowd about the broken healthcare system and esp EDs. Yet TC started questioning about Simeon's comment that Max has previously said we should tax more. He's in service to the TPU not the public.

Not only is it telling that all these groups are basically the same five agitators with different tour bands, we must remember that they had to form a fake parents' advocacy group because they are utterly unpopular losers

New AstroTurf org released: Parents Alliance. Filled with all the usual TPU aligned folk. No doubt the ultimate purpose will be to ensure the reign of charter schools. #nzpol

I'm sure the Atlas Network policy wonks think that minimum wage employees should just work harder so they can get more in tips. Because that's how it works, right?

Jobseekers surge again, surpassing even Covid. There are now ~50,000 more unemployed since Coalition took over even as 120,000 Kiwis left NZ last year alone, (44,000 net) This is all the result of a "Trickle Down / Free Market ideology" approach that hasn't worked anywhere #nzpol #kiwi

Bishop&Stanford have had had a driving seat in damaging - to people and place - reforms. Will National get a more competent Leader and the media just fawn & pretend that the radical undemocratic changes the govt have made across the board arenโ€™t costing lives and futures. 1/2 #nzpol

rnz.co.nzLive: Christopher Luxon calls urgent caucus meeting amid leadership speculationNational Party MPs have been summoned for an "urgent in-person" caucus meeting in Wellington.

It's been over 5 weeks since submissions closed on the Definition of Woman and Man Bill. The submissions are still being uploaded! There's no timeframe being given for when they'll be complete. We'll get to the committee report deadline before they are all reviewed and uploaded! #nzpol

Misleading headline from RNZ. The number of tax experts are 1... singular. And that single tax expert from Deloitte is only quoted talking about how this will be out of line with what IRD prefers. But why not talk to IRD about how IRD feel about this? #nzpol

And, the young folk are being left to rot here. Seriously... more than 1 in 3 young people wanting work or more work. WTAF. So, I say it again... is there nothing that needs doing? Have we got all the infra we need? Are our schools rich in support people? Jeez. [Ends]

Still running this line as of July 2026. Every accusation is a confession.

Peeps in Tฤmaki Makaurau, if you haven't already, get your tickets for this event. It's going to be a good one in the build up to the election. Chaired by Sean Ackland, reps from all the political parties are turning up to debate education policies. events.humanitix.com/education-an...

Imagine if ACT cared as much about NZ as they care about the genocidal country. A couple of changed words makes all the difference:

Turns out Tฤmaki ACT candidate James Christmas is also a lover of genocide. Hypocrite. Imagine changing Israeli or Jewish in this text to trans. Would they offer the same consideration to that community? ๐Ÿคฌ #nzpol

Last night Tฤmaki Labour candidate, Max Harris, hosted Bernard Hickey and Barbara Edmonds. Other side of the electorate ACT candidate hosts David Seymour. Approx 50 people turned up to the auditorium to hear Seymour, 140 packed out the community centre for Max Harris. C'mon Tฤmaki! #nzpol

Watching Laura McGoldrick crying while talking about the para athletes felt like disability porn. When it's her best buddy's family (the Harts) that fund political parties so they pay less tax and therefore cut disability services... this feels gross. This isn't her story to tell.
