Well I'm successfully in Philly as of early this morning. That 12 hour delay wound up being closer to 14. I landed almost exactly 24 hours after arriving to the airport, it was a nightmare. I was more exhausted and sleep deprived than I've ever been.

The problem with protesting right now is that unless it gets really big and gets intense traction, like in Minneapolis, our anger is the exact thing they want. The cruelty is the point. They're doing half this shit, like the p*blic exec*tion, specifically to piss us off.

Our dislike of them comes from how they treat people. They treat us and anyone outside of their in-group like shit. The result is that we want to stop that behavior. Their hatred of us comes from us not being in their in-group. The result is that they want to assimilate, remove, or destroy us.

I was feeling pretty down yesterday (see previous post) and asked my mom to sit and watch a movie with me. Neither of us had ever seen Napoleon Dynamite, so we watched it. We both enjoyed it, but my 78 year old mom absolutely loved it.

My salary got halved, effective almost immediately. I was one of the lucky ones. It was one of three possibilities at my salary. Halved, temporarily retained as a part-time contractor, or laid off. I got the best case scenario. Don't work in software, kids. I was told it was a great career path.
