This is Laika’s magnum opus. The story is simple, but gripping. The world feels alive and dangerous. The danger itself is real (people DIE in this). The animation is so good, I forgot it was stop motion at parts. Art in motion on screen.

Wildwood is dark, funny, intense and awe inspiring. A testament to human creativity. I cannot fathom how much time and attention went into that movie.

Between Castlevania: Belmont's Curse's platforming and Silver Pines' photography mechanic it's becoming pretty clear that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown managed to make a mark on the metroidvania genre. As per usual, Ubisoft were complete fools for dissolving that team.
