Iconoclasts is something I seem to recommend every other Steam sale, but for good reason. Still some of the most impressive pixelart and animation I have ever seen, impressive boss battles, incredible story and characters, and some unbelievable music. It's a serious gem.

Our feature artist/tutorial for today is this WONDERFUL & ESSENTIAL page on the placement of BODY FAT on figures by the talented @marinscos! REAL BODY SHAPE VARIETY is a part of what makes us all beautiful, and that should be reflected in our art. I LOVE this. #ART #anime #ARTIST

not to do the 'repost stuff from other sites' thing but a friend sent this to me like YES we need uncosiness in games

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.

This is one of those arguments that sounds like slopulism but is actually, if anything, understated. 56% of Colorado river water goes to GROWING FEED FOR LIVESTOCK IN THE DESERT.

STOP GROWING FUCKING LETTUCE IN THE DESERT THIS IS ACTUALLY A VERY EASY PROBLEM TO SOLVE

(1) clearly invoke your 6th amendment right to counsel (2) clearly invoke your 5th amendment right to remain silent (3) shut up You can’t talk to cops. They aren’t your friends. Theyre not there to help you. They’ve targeted you & are looking to build a case against you. Don’t help them.

What’s a thing from your area of expertise (or special interest) that you think it would behoove everyone else to know?

The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.

we should obviously strive for clarity in our work but a not insignificant percentage of your readers will always (erroneously) assume one of your characters is a horse, and no amount of explanation or exposition will prevent this

Writers: what’s a solid piece of *craft* advice you wish you’d known sooner? Mine is this: when making writing decisions, always stop and ask yourself what is best for the SCENE. What are the scene’s goals? Does this sentence, this paragraph, this line of dialogue serve those goals? If not, fix it.

If TADC came out in the 90s it would have been on MTV and there would be Oasis and Fatboy Slim songs playing during pivotal moments

Not clean and succinct people wildly underestimate small things. "Just add a menu option" can be anywhere from trivial to a complete nightmare depending on how a game is built and it's not like 'everyone should just do everything the flexible way', because that just gets wasteful.

If you're a developer (of any size) with a game to share you're welcome to send press releases / keys to my email dash.wood@futurenet.com There's no guarantee that everything I play will be featured, but it is a shot at getting featured on the most visited consumer tech publication in the UK!

Great news! I have officially been sanctioned to write about Random Bullshit™️ on a semi-regular basis. This is Under the Radar, our new series highlighting the weird and wonderful games that nobody is paying attention to. Buckle up, because things will probably get weird.
