just searched 2025 videos - that year alone had 179 videos explaining the costco model.

I kept seeing people explain Costco's business model, so I checked how many times it had actually been explained. Quite a lot, as it turns out. 430+ videos. 380+ creators. 13 years. dev.keyurshah.net/costco-slop/

update: i was able to get the initial setup done, but had to use ai all the time because i couldn't the code. shelved it for now, maybe i'll revisit it once i am more familiar with how things work

really love the astro-chiri theme - hoping to recreate it on eleventy. original github repo - github.com/the3ash/astr...

is there a way to share a list of muted words/tags? in the moderation settings I can see a way to create public shareable block list of users, but not for words/tags. I am so tired of my feed getting filled with US Politics.

This is true in tech as well. Sometimes folks ask how I got testimonials from prominent devs on my course sites, and the answer is usually that we’ve known each other for many years. If you’re just starting out, get to know others at the same level. Play the long game.

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.

If Github Copilot - one of the most well-liked and most conspicuous generative AI products, one of the few real *products* - only makes $500m a year, then there really is no massive growth story here. Even if that was profit. Which it isn't. It's horribly unprofitable. bsky.app/profile/did:...

$500m in revenue - not profit! - for the one Microsoft ai product people actually like. Pathetic! Also back in 2023 the WSJ reported that Microsoft lost $20 for every $10 copilot a month subscriber. Amazing stuff everybody www.tomshardware.com/news/microso...

We do know that amateurs can already post their writing right? There's no real barrier to doing that. What this means is that the Washington Post will be selling their brand credibility to anybody with an AI.

I followed this ADHD hack where they suggest putting things in containers when you are too overwhelmed and need to clean up the house quick Now I have about 10 containers that I need to go through that I collected over the year 😂😭

I don’t know what happened to this years Spotify Wrapped, but it’s disappointingly underwhelming/soulless. Every year, there used to be fun parts in it. This one feels like it was some mandatory exercise, and I only got raw data presented, with computer graphics. Where’s the fun, where’s the art?
