I don’t know when WSB wrote this in the copy I’d sent him, except that it would have been over 28 yrs ago, on July 31, in Lawrence. Leary had encouraged him to read Neuromancer and he’d liked it, which thrilled me. We hadn’t yet met, and wouldn’t for a few yrs.

That's a wrap! It will take some time for the queue to clear, so hopefully by tomorrow we will have all the data calculated. Thanks again to @wiglenet.bsky.social and everyone who participated! Stay tuned for final scoring and the drawing. #HHB24Wigle #AllTheWiFi

While I was struggling with protecting my mom's site from the bot swarm I kept asking everyone who is still in the industry how small sites who don't have a kid with a computer science degree survive and the answer was pretty much "they don't" and that's so grim

this is high art. a font of wisdom.

We've somehow managed to make it a quarter of a century with this silly hobby project. Thanks to everyone who has helped make this happen - crazy hackers the world over, the wardriving community, and everyone who loves to see the RF spectrum come alive.

Shoutout to Pentoo Linux for backing RF Hackers Sanctuary this year. Your support helped power the RF Village at DEF CON 34 with an amazing CTF and talks. #DEFCON #RFVillage

If you’re coming to DEF CON, find us, we’ll give you stickers! But also, the Voting Village is the best possible use of your time!

Voting Village returns to #defcon34! In addition to the voting machine lab, we have some terrific talks this year. Come hear about de-anonymizing ballots in Georgia, and the inside scoop on the (unpublished) Puerto Rican election systems report, among many others. info.defcon.org/defcon34/vil...

Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him

The #wwwd 2026 is over. 24 of 84 on the Leader Board, 74k APs seen. Two foxes of who knows how many assigned me… All I know is that I am ahead of #elkentaro (legend!) on the big board now (#48, 2.8 million APs), the rest is gravy 😎 #allTheWifi @wiglenet.bsky.social #wardrive

since folks have been asking: your World Wide War Drive uploads start processing as soon as they pass the "Final Stats" stage - "Geo/Catalog Indexing" proceed in parallel with calculating your score!

At the start of the WWWD, we have participants on 5/7 continents! (c'mon South America! - McMurdo, we're giving you a pass due to lack of new networks)

A reminder: now's a great time to register for the @defcon.bsky.social 34 @rfhackers.bsky.social World Wide War Drive!

Cell-site simulators (CSS, also known as Stingrays or IMSI catchers) are devices that masquerade as legitimate cell-phone towers, tricking phones within a certain radius into connecting to the device rather than a tower. Our tool, Rayhunter, can help you find them. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

eff.orgMeet Rayhunter: A New Open Source Tool from EFF to Detect CellularRayhunter is a new open source tool we’ve created that runs off an affordable mobile hotspot that we hope empowers everyone, regardless of technical skill, to help search out cell-site simulators
