As students we made a pyramid of toilet roll tubes in the window until the entire window was blocked out by them. I’m sure you have questions. I do not have answers.

Pip@philippawarr.bsky.social

There are two types of people in this world: those who put empty toilet roll tubes in the bin, and those who pile empty toilet roll tubes on top of the bin lid, meaning that, in addition to not containing the tubes, the bin also cannot be used as a bin for anything else.

On this day in 2017, I went to BBC TVC to collect my auction lot from the big sell off. And there I met the BBC2 idents of my youth. Star struck.

Four is such a small number for some of these massive outlets to not have published. You should subscribe to jank.cool

We published four reviews this week at @jank.cool - FOUR! That is more than PC Gamer did this week, or RPS, or Eurogamer, or all those other sites I like but must pretend, for professional reasons, to hate.

Settle a debate for me, which ape language has the most offensive slurs? I reckon it’s gorillas because chimps are too base violent and orangutan are too sophisticated for single word abuse

I am relatively new to the fluff and characters of MtG and I feel like I'm going insane whenever I see someone talking about this guy. Are we… are we just letting this fly without laughing or snickering? Seriously?

Does anyone have any good audiobook recommends? I normally read miserable books about mentally ill women having a breakdown or "intelligent" sci-fi type stuff where people with guns have arguments about politics. I'm not going to read Dungeon Crawler Piss

I did this and it turns out I have at some point turned this data-gathering off.

Amazon users are discovering a bizarre "About You" page that reveals what the company thinks it knows about them One woman found Amazon had determined she "has flat buttocks"

Just realised we're a bit over three years away from the 20th anniversary of Danger Days and thinking of what they might do for it. Slightly concerned they might lay on a full dystopian apocalypse of tyrannical anti-creative oppression spearheaded by synthetic entities, sorry I'm being handed a note

It’s getting harder & harder to find a space to talk about live music. Journalism is struggling. Grassroots music venues are in crisis. That’s why I’ve started 🖤Eviscerating Joy🖤. A space to talk about as many bands (and fans, and venues) as I humanly can. Join me! evisceratingjoy.substack.com

Do you ever think about the American names for note subdivisions and how deeply stupid they are if you’re not in 4/4 time? “three quarter notes to a bar”, “each bar is six beats an eighth in length”. Daft. Foolish. Awful.

Do you ever think about the British English names for music notation and get scared

One day I would like to sit down with someone very knowledgeable about cars and work out what the elements are that define the type of cars that I really like? Because I don’t know what the shared dna of the countach, new Renault 5, R8, Hyundai Ioniq, and like… Kei trucks is. But there is one

You know what I’d like? It’d never happen but EA should release Mirror’s Edge on switch/switch 2. I’d eat that shit up. Full price purchase, genuinely.

oh yeah

Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him

Hey I was going to work on an app for people who wanted to have gay hookups with Germanic-speaking Post-Roman Britons but mostly people have been using it to cut through locks and steal bikes Looks like it’s back to the drawing board for Angle Grindr

Some people say they relax by doing a Jigsaw but honestly I find it really stressful? Between the kidnapping, disposing of bodies and thinking of ironic but deadly escape room puzzles it’s just such a faff.

Trying out that new dating app for kink-positive and non monogamous people but so far all I’m seeing on there is sporty posh women with sticks? Can anyone tell me is it always like this or have I got the wrong version of Feeld Hockey?

Now do FDM printed tat. I’m not even kidding, at Tabletop Scotland there was so much layerliney ugly plastic nothing being sold “just because” with no real QC or care in the crafting, just firing off free STLs to sell for £20 each. Get rid of it & make people sell things they’ve actually made again.

Wend through my photo library because of nostalgia and from March 2009 to September 2010 I didn’t take a single picture of myself. It’s all like, broken objects and blurry distorted drunk mess, and random snippets of other people. Love to see how bad it was in there.
