This apple season I ask that you consider the Roxbury Russet.

This is a good Q. Don’t we usually get a Sierra Nevada harvest beer in the fall? Or?

mandercamp@mandercamp.bsky.social

@willgordonagain.bsky.social hey by any chance you know of any wet hopped beers available around ol' Beantown?

Having lunch at the Anchir Bar at Buffalo airport with a bunch of rowdy Mafioso en route to Vegas to see Jash and the boys; the charm is still there, but the clock is ticking on this act.

I’d like to thank the good people of Southern Ontario—and, crucially, the other people of Southern Ontario—for introducing us to this absolute Pervert’s Delight.

El Nino or general climate fuckedness or ? got the farmers market going so strong for so long that I'm asking the heretical question "do I even still want peaches in fuckin October?" and the answer is yes but we're pushing it.

One of my favorite personas for the cat has always been degenerate gambler (she likes watching sports and has weird reactions) and fucking Draft Kings has taken the joy out of it—nothing about gambling is funny anymore. Assholes!

Austin is a good do-gooder and this is a good cause!

Y'all ready to do some good this week? How I'd Fix Atlanta has once again partnered with Undue Medical Debt to help out a bunch of our neighbors. As always, we need your help. Please give what you can and tell everyone you know. unduemedicaldebt.org/campaign/whe...

I love creeping on train commuters’ get-through-the-morning purchases from the South Station liquor kiosk. Quarter pint of Jim Beam and orange Gatorade at 9:30am, good sir? That ought to hold you fine.

Tolle is the first Red Sox to be both cool and good since Mookie and so help me god if one of you motherfuckers ever tells me a single thing about his political views.

Red Sox@redsox.com

Please enjoy every pitch of Payton Tolle's immaculate inning.

“Will, would you like 1 million dollars and the only catch is you have to see Larry Bird’s voting record?” should be an easy question for a not-rich guy with a realistic understanding of the world, and yet we all have our fragilities.

Going to RI Seafood Fest today to avoid Carnival in my neighborhood. such an asshole sentence to type I know, but the windows literally rattle for 12 hours—love that the community is having fun, love that I have an escape plan. Anyhow, can’t wait to buy stuffies for all your spouses!

Since we were all canonically 13 at the time I suspect we’re making a lot of well intentioned memory mistakes about the immediate aftermath. At that age and in that era we also just didn’t know as much about how other communities were getting down on any given day.

I worked at a children’s book company and dated a coworker there, so I remember ppl being sad and kind and anxious, but see above re what our average day tended toward anyway. I think folks are casting their personal experiences a bit far (in all directions).

The youth gang we run with (buy beer from) is all starting senior year of college today and I think they’re projected to go 6 for 6 on graduating in 4 years. Have schools done a better job of getting kids thru in time?

We were at one of those daycare type breweries yesterday and I tried to sneak out the back as shortcut so I ended up kinda in the woods with a bunch of rowdy 5 year olds who put me in charge, I wasn’t fully ready but did my best, I think I’m meeting some diaper wearer named Luka for beers later.

I used to work at one of these stupid points companies and my breaking point was when they tried to explain how sometimes it makes sense to buy airplane money. No it doesn’t! The other breaking point was when they fired me, but I stand by the don’t buy fake money position.

lotta hilarious grifts going on in this, our Golden Era Of Scamming, but “spend your real money on fake airplane money that you can then spend on flying” is just stunningly absurd

StubHub's might be my favorite emails begging for intricate feedback on a pass/fail service. "Tell us how we did!!!" I wanted a Sox ticket, a guy scalped me one, and you took your bit off the top of both ends. How many fuckin stars does that net out to?

I checked in my very good state rep and played it cool but couldn’t help but chat up legendary city councilor Denise Simmons. In the flesh! Voting on her lunch break like a mere mortal.

Dream came true: working the election tomorrow, plum City Hall assignment too! Come by, vote for well I can’t say, vote with your heart, and if my heart agrees then have a lil snort of Old Crow from my Democracy Backpack to honor a vote well cast!

First trip to Polar Park for a WooSox game, love it. Relatedly this time of year is fraught in certain customer service realms because the load-bearing early career teachers paying off student loans with summer gigs are gone and only the Trevor Army remains.

“I don’t think we have draft beer because of the gas or something like that? We have cans though?” That’ll do just fine little buddy, and sorry Miss Kelsey didn’t order enough CO2 to see you through September but she wants you to grow.

Last night we watched a stranger's baby for a few minutes so she could run next door and get her "morning wine" before the store closed. Baby was cute as hell. I wonder how the afternoon wine situation is shaking out for them.

Caught up with a buddy tonight and re Donny “I heard Donny was sick” “oh shit, I didn’t know. Donny sucks!” “Oh Donny sucks!” Let’s endeavor to be less like Donny (he’s dead, RIP shitty Donny)

Cashed in a coupon for my first transit lounge visit (Amtrak NYC) and regret to inform myself that the free hummus and not-too-recently-pissed-upon chair are nice touches. Lounges are still for chumps, but.

Lady Em knew in high school just got “fuck around” and “find out” tattooed on her calves and I must meet this woman (who is reportedly “sweet”). What compels one, other than being an aggressive dickhead dude?

We’re at Spin Doctors, Gin Blossoms, Blues Traveler in Central Park. A classic “eh, if I happen to walk by” bill at first blush that on second blush is “wait, 6 first ballot HoF tunes and 6 other minor bangers plus they got a Bitburger tent?”

The great new Colson Whitehead book has 3 bad typos in the first 40 pages, so I guess we’ve hit “fancy publishers aren’t even proofreading their biggest novels anymore” levels of anti-literacy. It sucks!

It's grim how Wannabe Executive Brain has so thoroughly poisoned baseball discourse that the Red Sox feel like they have to make excuses for swapping a bum catcher for an All-Star catcher because they also threw in a bunch of mostly unranked A-ball prospects

A friend is working for a place owned by one of the local Food Network contestants from 2014 (the only people who get funded to open big restaurants in Boston) so I went to the site, and man is it embarrassing that the first two words under About are "Celebrity Chef."

Every neighborhood bar is dependent on alcoholism, right? Like if you’re right downtown or next to a stadium you can make it work with everyone having 1.5 drinks, but the place on a random corner needs 20 guys who cash their checks there. Grim but essential, I’m conflicted and uncomfortable!
