Austin Abrams is on the edge. Not literally—although he is barefoot and cross-legged at the front of a sofa for most of our Zoom call—but metaphorically, given the stakes of this moment in his acting career. I profiled Austin Abrams for LOFFICIEL USA: www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/aust...

YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING or “you don’t have to believe in magic, leave it to me and I’ll make it happen” the movie. Like ten different incredible things that I can’t believed happened in isolation, let alone in a film. Did the guy sitting up meme like five times. Believe the hype.

THE SOCIAL RECKONING: Not awful as a journalistic thriller—and then the rest of the movie happens. Fine, I guess, as a supersized version of THE NEWSROOM. As a follow up to one of the best movies of the last decade? Pretty awful! Self-indulgent Sorkin at his worst. Mikey innocent

“But sometimes a reimagining—or better yet, a remix—is needed to make something old feel fresh. By grounding itself in the “dirt” of legacy and self-reliance, Lanterns set the genre alight again.” Me on the LANTERNS finale for @gqmagazine.bsky.social: www.gq.com/story/lanter...

gq.comHow the Lanterns Finale Flipped the Typical Superhero ScriptIn “Dirt and Stars,” the show unraveled a series of Damon Lindelof-approved mysteries, none bigger than the question of who killed Hal Jordan.

I only got about half the season of LANTERNS tied to some pre-release coverage (come back on Sunday for that) but what’s worth watching about the show is how good the performances are across the board but especially how kinetic Chandler and Pierre are *together*

WASHINGTON (AP) — Evacuation ordered for events at National Mall as storms gather near Washington ahead of Trump's July 4th speech.

President Obama once delivered a speech in an open field for four hours during a thunderstorm while leaning against a very tall, pointy metal pole. President Trump should do the same, but for six hours, to demonstrate his strength.

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON returns with some of its some issues (supporting characters I can’t be too bothered to care about) but also an extreme confidence in committing to the brutality of its story. In short, I’m pretty high on what I’ve seen so far: dub.sh/NW0OjR7

I thought the world cup was going to be a nightmare, but I forgot that we actually love when people like us

Spurs overachieved all season long but what’s going to haunt me the most is that we absolutely could have won this series. I hope to god we’re back here next year - but nothing promised.

In the seven years between STAR WARS films, we’ve heard of more canceled or unreleased projects than there have been theatrical releases. For GQ, I broke down fact and fiction between what’s coming, what’s in development, and what’s DOA for the franchise: www.gq.com/story/every-...
