In a dangerous world, nations prosper through strong alliances. The UK's closest friends, biggest trading partners, and most natural security partners are just across the Channel. A closer relationship with the EU is about realism, not ideology.

Britain and Europe share geography, history, trade, security interests, and democratic values. As global power balances shift and international relationships become less predictable, closer UK-EU cooperation is not nostalgia. It's common sense.

Whatever your view of Brexit, one fact remains: the UK and EU share a continent, common interests, and many common values. In a world of uncertainty, closer cooperation is in the interests of both sides. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί

The world is becoming more unstable, not less. In an era of geopolitical uncertainty, shifting alliances, and increasingly volatile US foreign policy, the UK's long-term security and prosperity depend on building a closer, stronger relationship with our European neighbours. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί

I want British citizens to have the same opportunities in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and Madrid that Europeans once had in the UK. Freedom of movement benefited both sides. Thank you Andy Burnham for opening the door to this important discussion. πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί

As someone who values friendship, culture and cooperation across Europe, I welcome Andy Burnham's comments. Freedom of movement enriched lives on both sides of the Channel. Let's look forward, not backwards, and start rebuilding what was lost.

The dream of living, working and falling in love anywhere in Europe should belong to the next generation too. Thank you Andy Burnham for having the courage to discuss restoring freedom of movement. Britain's future lies in partnership with Europe. πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ίβ€οΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Freedom of movement was never just about people coming to Britain. It was about Britons having the freedom to build a life anywhere in Europe. I welcome Andy Burnham starting this conversation. Let's restore those freedoms and work towards rejoining the EU. πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί

Credit to Andy Burnham for being willing to reopen an honest discussion about freedom of movement. Millions of Britons lost the right to live, work, study and retire across Europe. It's time to rebuild those opportunities and bring the UK closer to the EU again. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί

Peter Gabriel has spent a lifetime pushing boundaries. From Genesis to his solo work, he proved that popular music can be ambitious, inventive, emotional and socially conscious all at once. 🌍

Ultravox helped define an era, yet their music still sounds fresh decades later. Vienna remains one of the most atmospheric and haunting recordings ever made. Electronic music with genuine soul. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Kate Bush didn't follow trends. She created her own universe. Innovative songwriting, literary influences, unique vocals and fearless experimentation make her one of Britain's greatest musical visionaries. 🌟

Everything But The Girl showed that subtlety can be just as powerful as spectacle. Tracey Thorn's voice and Ben Watt's songwriting produced music of extraordinary sophistication, beauty and emotional depth. ❀️

Led Zeppelin blended blues, folk, hard rock and mysticism into something unique. Jimmy Page's guitar work, Robert Plant's vocals, John Bonham's drumming and John Paul Jones' versatility created musical alchemy. 🎸

David Bowie spent decades reinventing himself while remaining unmistakably Bowie. Few artists have combined innovation, intelligence, theatricality and unforgettable songwriting so effortlessly. A true original. ⚑

From the dark, cinematic soundscapes of Massive Attack to the visionary genius of Pink Floyd, some musicians don't just make music, they create entire worlds. Their work rewards every listen and proves great art never ages. 🎡

There is something almost prayer-like about Alin Coen's Immer noch da. Gentle, intimate and full of quiet hope, it reminds me that the most powerful music often speaks in whispers rather than shouts. πŸŽΆπŸ’«

Immer noch da is proof that beauty doesn't need to shout. Alin Coen's voice floats effortlessly through the song, creating a feeling of peace, wonder and connection that borders on the spiritual. Simply breathtaking. ✨🎡

Listening to Alin Coen's Immer noch da is like watching sunlight break through clouds after a storm. Delicate, heartfelt and quietly profound, it carries a beauty that feels both human and divine. #AlinCoen #GermanMusic

Some songs entertain. Others touch something deeper. Immer noch da by Alin Coen is one of those rare pieces of music that feels almost sacred, full of tenderness, longing and grace. A beautiful reminder of the power of simplicity. ❀️

Alin Coen's Immer noch da feels less like a song and more like a gentle conversation with the soul. There's a quiet beauty and almost divine warmth in her voice that makes time stand still. Music at its most honest and transcendent. 🎢✨

While many songs chase instant gratification, Massive Attack's Angel rewards patience and attention. The gradual build-up creates a sense of anticipation that few artists have ever matched. Pure musical craftsmanship.

The genius of Massive Attack is that they understood silence as well as sound. In Angel, every pause, every echo and every bass note serves a purpose. Music doesn't need to be loud to be powerful.

What makes Angel by Massive Attack so beautiful is its patience. It doesn't rush. It unfolds layer by layer, pulling you deeper into a hypnotic world of darkness, mystery and emotion. A masterclass in musical storytelling.

Massive Attack's Angel isn't just a song. It's a slow-burning storm. The bass crawls under your skin, the tension builds relentlessly, and every note feels like a shadow coming to life. Few tracks make atmosphere feel so physical.

My music taste is a strange but wonderful mix of German indie, folk-pop, singer-songwriters, alternative rock and songs that make me want to jump on my bike and explore somewhere new. πŸŽΆπŸš΄πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Well said πŸ‘ Caroline Voaden MP: "In today’s interconnected world, isolationism simply does not work. It is time to move beyond the politics of grievance and focus on the art of the possible. For me, that means the possibility of rejoining the EU as a full and active member."

No referendum result should be treated as sacred forever. Circumstances change. Evidence changes. Generations change. Democracies allow the public to revisit major questions peacefully through elections and referendums when they choose.

Both audience members got it completely right πŸ‘ We can't rely on Trump's America, and for the sake of our own security, we must rejoin the EU 🚨

Parliamentary sovereignty means Parliament can make or unmake any law. The 2016 referendum carried enormous political weight, but legally it did not remove Parliament's authority to decide the UK's future relationship with the EU.

The question isn't whether the 2016 referendum happened. It did. The question is whether one advisory vote can permanently prevent future generations from choosing a different path. In a democracy, every generation has the right to reconsider major decisions.

If it's democratic to leave the EU through elected MPs implementing a referendum result, it's also democratic for elected MPs to pursue closer ties or even rejoin if voters give them a mandate. Democracy is an ongoing process, not a one-off event.
