Happy to be quoted in this thought-provoking article on the good and bad of tracking people, I hope my wonderfully sharp and independent 93-year-old mother doesn't mind being mentioned. Glad I never tracked our kids, whom I believe benefited from growing up without that level of parental intrusion.

Hearing climate change in the Alps: cicadas have arrived at St Martin d'Uriage, 600m altitude. We've been tracking this sound coming up the valley from Grenoble over the past 4 Summers, this week they arrived chez nous with the third heatwave of 2026. Feels like the South, sounds like the South.

Another goal hit yesterday, hiked up the unfortunately named Grand Colon, 2,394m Hot sunshine, forest and open alpage, with rocky stretches and snow patches at the top. Can't believe we've been looking at this mountain for 23 years and only climbed it now. It's a nicer ⛰️than its name suggests 😀

Draghi’s strategic economic growth agenda for the EU does not disappoint. It channels aspects of the thinking of Jean Monnet (EU defense integration), Jacques Delors (EU single market) and Bidenomics (cleantech / economic security). But above all, Draghi’s own vision. My initial observations🧵
