Democrats need to be ready to hold hearings and inquiries into the assault that Musk, Zuckerberg and other tech bros are making against democratic institutions at home and abroad.

i’m just so fucking sorry that my muslim friends have to be hit with this despicable racism every single day. it’s not ok and you should not have to tolerate it. this country belongs to all of us.

Trump on El-Sayed: "His name is actually Abduladadalalalala. It's Adulbabababababa Mohammed Al-Sayed. So his middle name is Mohammed. So I was right. He's a jihadist."

The vast majority of history’s worst people have been intelligent. If not, they would not have been able to wreak such havoc. I am so tired of “intelligence” used as some sort of shield or excuse. Shall I list the number of mass murderers with advanced degrees?

RFK Jr., and all who promote and support him should be charged with crimes against humanity. Oh, how I wish that statement was hyperbole. Of course, it also applies to the entire Trump regime.

“The children who are randomly selected not to receive the birth dose of the vaccine, those who “lost the lottery”, face in their earliest days the risk of contracting hepatitis B, which can cause irreversible lifelong damage.” No words. I am speechless. This violates all ethical boundaries.

Ossoff: "I think Pete Hegseth is frankly a deeply unwell person who seems to relish this kind of brutality all the while he's running a department that is falling into chaos. The guy cannot run the military competently and is spending his time with this kind of obscene medieval spectacle."

"Brutality trip" sums it up nicely. The GOP/MAGA/MAHA is a death cult.

Mother Jones@motherjones.com

In April, a veteran death penalty lawyer described the DOJ’s plans to revive the firing squad in federal capital cases as part of the administration’s “brutality trip.” This week, Trump approved the military's first firing squad execution since WWII, which the Pentagon says will be live-streamed.

Marimar Martinez was shot five times by a Border Patrol agent and branded a “domestic terrorist” by DHS — all for just warning her neighbors and speaking her truth during Operation Midway Blitz. She deserves true justice and accountability from the federal government.

This can't be talked about enough. "President Donald Trump's move to cut most of the US funding towards foreign humanitarian aid could cause more than 14 million additional deaths by 2030, according to research published in The Lancet medical journal." www.bbc.com/news/article...

Absolutely enjoying the outpouring of love for such a wonderful human being. There are so many stories and clips and anecdotes and more. All full of love for someone who was so full of love and always seemed willing, and eager, to share hers.

Among the travesties of this regime. It has always, and will always annoy (not a strong enough word) me that the wounded dead and wounded are mere numbers. Do people know what “wounded” can mean? I feel too many assume it’s something minor, when it can be life altering.

STARS & STRIPES: “A further 60 🇺🇸 service members wounded in the Iran war were added to the Pentagon’s count of military casualties in recent days, bringing the total number of service members killed or injured to 775…” www.stripes.com/theaters/us/...

I keep seeing "Worst sitcom you've watched" and all I can think of is: my life at this moment. All of it. This authoritarian regime, all the hate, all the violence, all of it. None of it is funny. I think it's going for the absurdist comedy angle but it's failing miserably. DO NOT PICK UP. CANCEL.

James Talarico: 50 years ago, a corporate lawyer named Lewis Powell circulated a memo around DC — a blueprint for how corporations could amass political power, reverse the gains of the Great Society and the New Deal, and rig the system for themselves. And it worked.

The rate of sepsis in Houston surged 63% after Texas banned abortion. In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where hospital leaders empowered doctors to intervene before patients’ conditions worsened, it rose 29%. (Published May 2025)

"A concentration camp, in its most basic definition, is a place where a targeted civilian population, not necessarily accused of a crime, is detained and at least some of their basic rights are suspended," writes @jwashing.bsky.social. "That’s precisely what’s happening in the United States today."

theguardian.comDon’t call them ICE detention centers. Call them camps | John WashingtonI’ve spent a decade reporting on immigration enforcement. The word ‘camp’ best captures the political function of these facilities

This is what Stephen Miller and all the other murderous goons in the regime want. These deaths are on them.
