A great post, thanks for sharing. I second your argument about opencode, time to give it a try!

A content marketplace at scale sounds like a great idea! The open web would need a distributed, open platform though, not a central marketplace by one big company.

The Open Web was built on a fair exchange: content in return for visitors. AI broke that deal. We need new systems to support creators, not leave them behind. My thoughts on the forward: dri.es/the-webs-bro... /cc @cloudflare.social #openweb #ai

After @wordpress.org stopping new registrations, it was just a question of time the community starts taking over! I hope all this drama, in the end, leads to something good and helps WordPress, or a new fork, to obtain a solid governance structure!

Inertia 2.0 is out! #php Congratulations 👏 The async and deferred features seem very handy! Definitely something we should consider making easier for #LupusDecoupled also!

Joe Tannenbaum@joe.codes

Thrilled to announce Inertia 2.0 is now stable and released! Thank you to everyone who provided feedback while we were in beta, we are so excited about this next phase of Inertia and there is even more to come. Shoutout to the 🐐 Jonathan Reinink for such an incredible library. ⏩

My first one was Windows 3.0! 😁🤔 But I preferred to write my own bat-file based launcher to quickly boot into DOS games anyway 😁

Ben Hong@bencodezen.io

Yup. In fact, Windows 98 is around the time I started my web dev journey building my first website in Notepad. That's right. No syntax highlighting. No copilot. Just plain text. 🤪

Interesting read! Still I'm not convinced the web is in danger to become obsolete, I cannot imagine apps to fully replace websites as the visitcard of businesses. Not even facebook succeeded with that.

Alex Russell@infrequently.org

Platforms are competitions, and the web is losing. We can do simple, straightforward things to combat that decline...but contemporary frontend isn't doing those things. Why not? A consolidated thread from last week: infrequently.org/2024/10/platform…
