it's kinda hilarious how much the tweet "i'm like if a girl was an uncle" fundamentally changed my brain chemistry and self-conception

they don't want you to know this but pornography is best consumed on the new nintendo 3ds web browser. it has to be the new nintendo 3ds not the original one though. and don't you fucking dare use the xl. have some class.

Me when the lady in the liar documentary lies: I can’t believe this! She’s lying!

Just tried out the iPhone Duo. It’s really nice, they’ve done great work on the crease, you really can’t see it, and the small more square shape when folded is comfortable in one hand, which I was worried about. Let’s see how they age and I might get the next model

It’s not as big when unfolded as I’d hoped, though. The longest edge is about the same size as my 17 Pro Max, but the extra vertical space is nice.

did you guys know that AI art guys are apparently super protective of their prompts? that's v funny to me

Rewatching Jackass Best and Last. Still a fun movie, but it’s definitely not as rewatchable as the others.

Just saw a lib dude that calls himself a "non-practicing white person" and idk man. Your heart's probably in the right place, but you might be missing the point I think.

Hey @forbes.com just so you know, I’m 29 now, so you’re running out of time to get me on your 30 under 30 list. You should act fast.

faggots and their friends between revolutions is a beautiful text that made me bawl my eyes out. A dream of a world from people before aids devastated them, made me see queer history in a different way

I saw You Can See Everything last night. Incredible and insane movie, my #2 of the year behind Camp Miasma. It doesn’t feel like 3 hours at all, it keeps expanding and getting more complex in a way that constantly pushes you deeper & deeper, yet by the end, I still don’t really know what I think.

I’m tired of the discourse on this site always being about celebrity statements or queer identity or whatever. Let’s argue about the Balkans.

I watched ONE video about the history of Islam and now the YouTube algorithm desperately wants me to choose a side in the Sunni/Shia divide

stuff like this will always be more effective than any debate with a bigot could ever be

Working Class History @workingclasshistory.com

#OtD 14 Oct 1977 anti-gay crusader Anita Bryant was "pied" by Thom Higgins, a gay rights activist. She then began praying and burst into tears. Following a boycott, she lost her job as brand ambassador for Florida orange juice. More LGBT+ history here: workingclasshistory.com/tag/lgbtq/

It is generally good life advice that if you ever hear some "everyone knows" third party gossip about a trans creator or public figure, your 1st instinct should be to disbelieve it, your 2nd instinct should be NOT to pass it on, and 3rd to check VERY THOROUGHLY who's saying it and where it came from

Jessie Gender@jessiegender.bsky.social

One of the worst parts of being a creator, especially a trans one, is watching disinformation about you spread from bad actors to other folks like a bad game of telephone so you see people literally judge you on shit you never said/did or is completely opposite to the point you were making.

So many people (esp coworkers for whatever reason) will see me reading and go “I wish I could sit down and read like that” and I’m always telling them that you can!! You can do it right now like I am! Or when you get home and watch TV or TikTok or whatever? You could read instead!!

This is especially odd in my line of work. I’m a school bus driver, so the people saying this to me are people that I *know* have at least 30 minutes over the course of a day where they’re idling at schools or something waiting pickups. That’s prime reading time

It’s fine to choose to do other things with your time, and like anything else it takes work to be able to get in the groove of reading for extended periods, but don’t lie to yourself that you don’t have the time or ability to do it yknow?

I thought I had at least passing familiarity with conspiracy theories until the man sitting next to me at the Lebanon, OH Skyline told me “space ain’t real.” “What do you think is between us and the moon?” an employee asked. The man seemed to think about this for a moment. “The moon…is with us.”

I’ve been thinking about this for years and I’m so glad we’re finally talking about it

reported on something that was really difficult for a lot of people for a lot of different reasons in a lot of different ways.

Kotaku@kotaku.com

Back in May, Double Fine employees petitioned for a union. Two weeks later, that petition was withdrawn. What happened? https://kotaku.com/inside-the-failed-fight-to-unionize-one-of-gamings-most-idealized-studios-2000742755

my work partner in like 2017 was a weird incel-ish libertarian dude who thought we were outside work friends so he invited me to his wedding, which i didn't go to, and he got very mad when i said, as a joke, "i'll go to your next one"

but like i'd met his fiancee who was a very sweet woman who deserved better so like. it wasn't that much of a joke. well i just got my first update on him (because i haven't seen him in 5+ years) from another old coworker and guess what?? she left him lmao

anyway shoutout anastacia i hope you found a guy that doesn't make fun of you for reading books or try to make you watch sargon of akkad

More evidence of civilization’s decline: I was just served a grilled cheese sandwich sliced vertically instead of diagonally.

People who listen to you talk about like, a relationship problem or something, and then tell you it’s because of you and your partner’s zodiac signs, are functionally equivalent to Christians who tell you that it’s because you need to pray about it.

Like obviously astrology doesn’t have the political power organized Christianity does, but in terms of being annoying and rude in casual conversations, it’s the same thing imo

You guys aren’t gonna believe this, but that really cool, tiny, credit card sized ereader I got a while ago? I can’t find it

I think JJBA would be a lot better if it was about baseball, set in North America, live action, improvised, and there were 30 teams that each played 162 games a season

Autotransmedicalism: you’re only really trans if you receive a medical diagnosis from me personally

I hadn’t read or heard much about Dune until the movie came out a few years ago, so for most of my life I’ve thought “fear is the mind killer” was just some cool shit my friend Alex said one time
