Letting the cat out. Telling the dogs to go lie down. Letting the cat in. Letting the cat out. Letting the dogs out. Letting the dogs in. Washing dog feet. Letting the cat in. Telling the dogs to go lie down. Letting the cat out. It's a day.

pretty much every time someone talks about AI agents going to work on the internet the first thing I think about is the family of racoons that moved into the attic of an old house for 20+ years, and how the attic was almost entirely occupied by layers of their ancient shit

I literally don’t know a single woman who hasn’t been raped, stalked, groped, harassed, or sexually violated in some way at some point in their life. If you choose to doubt and dox survivors, just know every woman in your life is disgusted by you.

If you have a Gmail account, you need to read this. Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how. Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:

The fallout from the collapse of this glacier - a torrent of mud surging down the valley - killed hundreds of people. Gone, in a flash. Those people were wiped out by anthropogenic climate change. Our governments are simply not responding quickly enough to this disaster which is already upon us.

An incredibly well-timed Landsat 9 pass captured the effects of yesterday’s catastrophic glacier collapse near the Nepal–Tibet border. The event was so massive that it was detected by seismometers around the world.

Part of the problem of always feeling like I'm up against a super tight deadline is I don't get a chance to learn the underlying technology, so it feels like I'm patching something rather than fixing it properly.

"I'm not looking to sell you something," he says, then proceeds to try to sell me something. Sir, if the first words out of your mouth are a lie, we're pretty much done. And if I have to ask you four times what I can do for you, I can assure you I've shut down by the time you get to the point.

I've been out of jump-rope circles since probably the 1980s. Do people still say, "Go Pitch! Go Patch! Go Pepper!" then speed up? Was that ever a thing?

I feel like reactions to this would range from "No way, that's stupid," to "Yeah, no kidding, stupid," but here goes: Salting chicken breasts and letting them sit for 24 hours before cooking is a GAME CHANGER. I don't know the chemistry of it, but it is the truth. #foodSky

elbows up (against essential parts of the public service)

Mark Carney's made deep cuts to Natural Resources Canada that strip away science-based expertise on forest fires, "decimating capacity" to track wildfire activity. Only one forest pathologist now monitors the entire forestry system east of the Rockies. 5/ www.nationalobserver.com/2025/12/05/n...

Man. This government stinks. They don't seem to represent me at all. If I didn't know better, I'd say they were more concerned with corporate growth than public service. Who voted for these turkeys?

My problem with writing a first draft is that, as soon as I'm not actively writing it, if I read anything that has any kind of polish, my story starts to feel a little foolish. I know the point of a first draft, but it can be hard for me to push through, knowing all the things it isn't. #amwriting

you don't have to use an extension to do this on Firefox • open settings > search • scroll down to search shortcuts and click add • fill out according to the image below (text in alt text) • click add engine • scroll back up and select "DuckDuckGo No Ai" under "default search engine"

Since Google revealed its plans for an AI search overhaul, visits to our "No AI" search page have tripled…and they’re still rising! Want to make it your default on Chrome or Firefox? Grab our No-AI extensions and banish AI-assisted answers, chat, and AI images. (1/3)

In my youth I disdained resistance bands. I wasn't much of a weightlifter either, but I had a hard time equating rubber bands with getting strong. Those bands put me in my place today, I tell you what. My glutes are weak in a way I wasn't expecting, and resistance bands kicked my ass.

In the process of clearing two trees that fell in our yarrd. One fell across the driveway so that one took priority. The other fell sometime over the winter. Big sucker. I'm learning a lot about chainsaw maintenance and proper chainsaw technique and how much I hate using the chainsaw.
