We, internationally, need to do exactly what the Brazilians did and lead by example with: 1) Block all far right figures/accounts 2) Never share a far right account even to dunk on them 3) Never reply to a far right account even to dunk on them Completely cut their algorithmic advantage

The elections are on next Tuesday, and so much is at stake, including the soul of the Democratic Party when it comes to transgender people. I am asking you to leave a very small number of races blank in which a Democrat has embraced extreme anti-trans hate. I make my case here.

erininthemorning.comDon’t Vote For The Worst Anti-Trans DemocratsThe Democratic Party should, and likely will, win big in the midterms. We must not send the worst anti-trans voices to join them.

New estimate says 2.3% of adults are transgender or gender-expansive. This is unsurprising to me. Trans people have been coming out more and more, and I always thought the 0.5-1% estimates were quite low. And this estimate ends in 2024 too. www.lgbtqnation.com/2026/08/star...

lgbtqnation.comStartling new study shows 12% of US adults are LGBTQ+, the highest estimate yet - LGBTQ NationThe analysis shows that a majority of LGBTQ+-identifying adults are below the age of 35.

Any Rust users I know that got a Macbook Neo have an experience to report?

Matt Campbell@matt.toot.cafe.ap.brid.gy

I'll be curious to find out if the MacBook Neo, with its A18 Pro chip and only 8 GB of RAM, feels too slow when compiling Rust. I like Rust a lot, but it's infamous for long compile times, especially for release builds with link-time optimization.

Question for the #rustlang crowd: Anyone know of a formal CS textbook that teaches Data Structures and Algorithms in Rust? What about a Graph Algorithms one? Would appreciate a signal boost

Today’s my last day at AWS working on the Rust compiler. Unfortunately, back in July I received notice that I had to choose between moving to Boston from NYC, or leaving the company due to RTO policy. I unfortunately couldn’t abandon the city I plan on being my long term home.

You are up to date.
