Did you know the differences between git "fixup" vs. "amend" vs. "reword" commits ? git-scm.com/docs/git-com... (... and that there is no "reword!" prefix ? 😱 )

Kenney hit the infamous "two billionaires with one post" achievement, remains very rare, also shows once again that money does not equal intelligence, capability, or insight: Kenney is obviously right.
Last I'll post about this, but Elon Musk disagrees with me. This means I am onto something, and I feel more valid in my opinion than ever.

In the 1990s, a Japanese diver saved an injured fish 56 feet underwater, and ever since, the fish has swum to meet him on every single dive for over 25 years. Original post

There’s no way to sugar coat this. This is a big failure. But this doesn’t change our dedication to Radicle’s mission as a sovereign local-first code forge. We will continue to fix and build Radicle
Bad news. We have to inform you about security vulnerabilities in the network protocol that Radicle nodes use to communicate amongst each other. radicle.dev/2026/09/23/d...

The main difference between @radicle.dev and @tangled.org is that radicle stores all social artifacts, like issues, patches, and interactions in the git repository, while tangled stores them in your atproto repository In both user actions are signed by a key but in radicle the key is user-owned 🧵
Coming up next, in #SoCraTes26 : Peer2peer, sustainable code hosting, with @radicle.dev Join me if you’re curious about #GitHub alternatives. There is always a choice. ;)

Lost one to Radicle - x.com/francescoswi... Francesco's a good ally to have and while any move away from centralized services is non-zero sum, I do think @tangled.org needs to be more ready to pounce on the next outage with a migration kit.

Must read for those curious about GitHub alternatives, like @radicle.dev and @tangled.org and how they embrace local-first workflows. Exciting to see the Zig community embrace @radicle.dev!

So it seems that #codeberg decided to participate in the #ai polarisation. I don't judge them for that, it's their choice, of course. But, I can see how that will cause another exodus. More network drama, more polarisation. Will the next place also be (quasi-)centralised? I prefer to self-host […]
You've still got time to join us this October on Crete! ;)
Some of the best developer conversations happen where inspiration flows freely 😌. Whether you want to host a session outdoors or just want to grab a coffee find a quiet spot and talk through an idea - our unconference has made "room" for that, with extra outside space options as well. 🌴😎
#SpaceX acquires #Cursor. Cursor's building a #GitHub replacement. So #Musk is coming for open source? I had "What if Musk acquires GitHub?!" on a conference slide [1], as the absurd, extreme example of why open source shouldn't be centralised.

For all who asked over the years, I've finally found a great service to receive support on: liberapay.com/maninak Please only sponsor what you can spare. I hope to offset the hosting and domain costs of radicle.at, serving the Radicle community for over 2 years.

Good news! I have been added to the RubyConf 2026 schedule to present JRuby and all the ways it lets you use Ruby when CRuby doesn't fit! I'm glad that the new @rubycentral.org values community and understands the importance of JRuby. Twenty years of JRuby...don't miss this talk!
If you've been meaning to check out #GitHub alternatives, moving to #radicle has now become a tiny bit easier: A hosted radicle.garden node means you don't have to worry about running infra yourself to keep your repos accessible. (Though you absolutely still can, if that's your thing!)
Something @yorgos.net.gr and I have been working on for a while is now live. 🌱
Here's a quick getting started guide if you want to try this out: radicle.garden/blog/getting... ... and if something doesn't quite feel right, or if you're missing some feature, well... now you know whom to reach out to! 😉
