I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

What do we think the collective response would be if Mayor Mamdani announced that the city would be taking efforts to drastically reduce the amount of advertising in Times Square?

I love it when I can tell there's shit going on out there on the Internet but somehow the details haven't actually reached me. Makes me feel like I don't have a doom scrolling problem.

Nobody likes an I-told-you-so, gang, but I gotta reiterate: Fascism is not a deviation from capitalism, it is a consequence of capitalism The failure of liberalism to stop fascism is not an unforeseen accident under capitalism, it is a necessary and inevitable feature of capitalism

this is your reminder that the owners of the New York Times, during the Holocaust, openly admitted they didn't consider themselves the same as the Jews being annihilated by the Nazis, nor did they consider covering the Holocaust an important story

I got mad at the New York Times after their editorial board released an opinion piece condemning Trump's anti-trans EOs and I decided to write about how the paper of record laundered transphobia into the mainstream and paved the road for Trump's transphobia. www.patreon.com/posts/nyt-ed...

You should throw out your black plastic cooking utensils and replace them with wood because the plastic increases your risk of cancer and because the wood makes you feel like a medieval peasant shakily scooping the last of the stone soup, wondering how your family will survive the winter.

Gonna be thinking about this any time a talking head or politician describes something as a "national security threat." The Myth of American Idealism, by Noam Chomsky and Nathan J. Robinson
