Since the Buu Saga, Bejita had changed, and the family bits showed that important characterization while making audiences care about what he holds dear. Throwing all of that carelessly in the bin is annoys me so much.

The show's writing room apparently didn't get that Bejita and Goku barely survived Beerus in the movie thanks to the people they loved giving them strength. To them it's apparently just Goku not having limits.

Beerus carried the original BoG movie for me, but Toei keeps making every new iteration worse, and at this point I can say the show is a turd. He used to be fun and whimsical, and now the party cast gets less screentime than in the film.

Battle of Gods was originally a reintroduction to the world of Dragon Ball, showing new future prospects. But now there is no reintroduction, and nobody is actually getting any decent characterization. What's left is just drawn out scenes of aura.

Bejita literally did nothing to keep him relaxed, so Beerus suddenly exploding in rage is so much worse now. No bingo dance, no food offer, no nothing. Like, literally. I think even the original Dragon Ball Super did it better.
