ICE didn’t try to detain Rümeysa Öztürk because she was a flight risk. They did it to humiliate her. To remind her, and us, who they think holds the leash. This is the Trump regime’s signature move: dehumanization as doctrine, cruelty as civic spectacle.

She’s free, but not safe. ICE is a system, not a mistake. Release is a pause—not protection. We must act. Not with outrage alone, but with infrastructure, with sanctuary, with networks that outlast the raid.

Best recourse right now is a civil suit for violation of constitutional rights. Criminal suit would be very difficult. Punitive damages should be millions (if not more). True taxpayers might have to foot the bill, but those are the consequences for electing such heinous individuals.

Be nice to see one of the airlines openly give her free flight home.

Good work! 👏 I was just talking with others about this…it’s great that Trump is being blocked by judges, and I’m thrilled that she was freed. But it can’t just be about blocking Trump. Keep fighting, and if you can, push for consequences. They need to be arresting those responsible.
