BREAKING: Our client Mario Guevara, an Emmy-winning journalist detained by ICE in retaliation for livestreaming law enforcement activity, will be deported tomorrow to El Salvador. Mario and his family are being punished for his reporting. This cruelty is meant to stifle our free press.

Mario had the right to work and report in the U.S. at the time he was arrested for livestreaming a protest in June. He was held for over 100 days in ICE detention, and he did not have the chance to say goodbye to his family in person before being deported.

I called and left messages with my representatives. I don't know if they can help, but I figured asking couldn't hurt. None of this should be happening, but deporting journalists is a new level of outrageousness.

Journalists should never have to fear government retaliation for reporting on government activity, and showing up to work shouldn't result in your family being torn apart.

Nope, I'm doing what I can not only to wake the masses but help teach the masses how to do somethings. Not many are willing to leave their comfort zones & learn theses days. When I talk to people about organizing I keep hearing about peaceful means - that didn't work with Hitler & won't work now.

This is a very cut and dried violation of the 1st Amendment! If we CONTINUE to let them do this with little pushback… WHAT OTHER RIGHTS WILL THEY TAKE AWAY?!? There’s 9 others in the Bill of Rights, and they cover every RESIDENT of these United States of America, regardless of legal status!

I read one article, not sure if it was this same building. But when the guy was released from ICE custody and returned home he found his apartment had been cleaned out... Everything stolen, not sure if it was looted or if ICE confiscated everything. Landlord had no answers. This is so fucked up.

You know what’s weird about this? Only 70 million Americans voted for Trump, and a fair percentage of that 70 million now disagree with what he and his regime are doing. You are 100% correct. This has never been the land of the free for all. That is why reciting the Pledge of Allegiance every morning seems like a waste of time. “Liberty and Justice for All” seems like a pipe dream at this point.
