The term liberal is no less informative than the term conservative. People do not owe you a descriptor of their political alignment any more descriptive than they wish to give you, unless they are running for office themselves.

As far as I can tell, the difference is that liberals push for incremental changes within the existing system, whereas leftists push for more radical changes only possible by abandoning existing systems

I'd estimate well under 90%, but I live in Alabama. There are denotations and connotations. When people use the term as an insult, I lose interest in their opinions.
