If they really wanted to reduce government spending, they'd triple the minimum wage NOW. So many employers are allowed to underpay their workers and then train them to sign up for government benefits they wouldn't need if they were just paid fairly! We'd have more taxes coming in, too. Win win!

Start by reducing their pay to the median income of their constituents

We can start with boondoggle trips to Daytona (MTG). There is no reason for members of Congress to travel anywhere in the country but their own district. If they want to visit another district they should do like everyone else does and pay their own way.

Maybe Congress could actually hold up the Constitution, keep the power bestowed upon them and LISTEN to their constituents. Either constituents will fire them in the next election, or Elon will pay $$$$$$$$$$$to fire them. At least they could do the right thing now.

Already wrote my Congress “men” on this. I expect their staffs to be fired and their salaries cut. Especially since we are in this mess because Congress overspends. The debt lies with them and them alone. They have the power to say no. They choose not to use it. So they are inefficient.

That seems like a first step, but there are bigger reforms necessary. A ban on corporate donations and corporate lobbying, ban insider trading, and elected officials and their staff should be given a living stipend. Get money out of politics and you’ll get people who are there to serve the public.
