This was a great article, Chris never misses. I'm so tired of being in subreddits for simple things like Satisfactory, which has had to ban all vibecoded calculators because people didn't spend a second looking, spun up their own wrong version, and then walked away and flooded everything

Even the 8-bit guy (whom I think has other done other previous weird shit) but has put out full games he's coded by himself in assembly code and should know better, recently put out a video with a trailer for a fucking AI slop movie he made on his phone, everything about this shit sucks so much

I don't remember that, I thought he was just kind of a stereotypical Texas guy, but if I recall he has featured a trans woman on one of his videos and not made a big deal out of it so I thought he was somewhat cool but thems the breaks

There is something even more annoying than generative ai it's people shitting their pants about generative ai just close your eyes or close the window. Or bomb a data center, anything but whining over and over

A few LLM rock climbing articles I’ve seen: “Lead rope solo for beginners” Lead rope solo is niche, dangerous, advanced. The info was pure hallucination. Could easily kill someone “Best rope lynx harnesses for rock climbing 2026” The rope lynx harness is a WOW item

Ballroom Dancing really is immune to AI and if people could resist using it as a “tee hee I am so funny” example and give it a go they’d find that it’s a wonderful sport and art form all rolled into one :-)

Amen to this, I'm trying to learn a new language (🇪🇸) and finding videos or books to practice listening/reading that don't have slop thumbnail or cover (let alone the actual content inside) has become like looking for a needle in a haystack

Model trains are affected as well. People use AI to create/copy parts for 3D printing, pretty up their layout photos, do all kinds of other stuff. In the past few weeks I learned of three new AI-made model train control projects - in a market where there haven't been new products for years.

People are only too happy to hand off their knowledge and competencies to AI for the sake of 'being efficient'. They will use AI to analyse user issues and then bombard the user with heaps of information that may or may not be related to the problem they're having. The worst way of 'helping'.

I’m at the point where I won’t buy knitting pattern books unless they’ve been published before 2022. More recent books are only game if the author had other work published prior to the slop infestation. It’s sad.
