Two things come to mind: first, it was the combined Allied military forces that beat the Nazis, not simply young men w guns. Second, my father fought in WW2, was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed and suffered from injuries and medical problems sustained in the war, so no, I’ll never forget it.

Anyone who knows anything about OSU’s football history (Woody Hayes) shouldn’t be too surprised. Emotions run high when you’re in a pressure cooker. Shit happens.

Yeah, the hand-wringing over a pretty standard college football rivalry game celebration technique was really something. It’s not a great rivalry b/c it’s friendly. It’s because it creates the conditions for its own perpetuation: Ohio will use that this offseason.

It's comments like this that give me hope for BlueSky moving forward because this is a quality tweet and it didn't take all that much for me to see it.

Somehow OSU has convinced themselves they're the most disrespected team/fans in the country while media types do nothing but treat like them like royalty.

Just because players *have* done an unsportsmanlike activity (like planting a flag for example), does not mean that it is appropriate or respectful. Michigan was behaving inappropriately. OSU responded inappropriately. It should never have happened, but Michigan started it.

And the rest of the original Big 10 says, "since when?" Far as I'm concerned, let Michigan and OSU fight it out. They're nothing but asswipes anyway, always has been.

How so? They’re going to make the playoffs for the 4th in his 6th season. They’ve beat two top 5 teams. They lost today. It happens. To say he’s lost control is ridiculous.

It’s a joke, folks. The talking heads were always asking “Has Mark Richt lost control of the program?” About Georgia in the 2010s. The answer was always no but the insinuation from the detractors was that he should be fired after every incident where a player did anything wrong

Gus’ fandom was far into question with his post game “You’ve already won, no need to street fighting” - I don’t know Gus, you and Joel missed some plays until you saw the replay in the booth, please explain to all of us how you saw Michigan start the squabble

Winning 4 years in a row, and beating the #2 ranked team as a 23 1/2 point underdog gives you every right to plant the Flag at midfield. Because, we own them.

When you start assaulting people on field you’re gonna get pepper sprayed, Michigan threw the first punch. Deserved it too after gloating getting a win handed to them on a silver platter by Kelly and his atrocious calls.

i don't know how you watch this unfold and think "you know who's making a mistake? michigan." ohio state might have multiple guys suspended for their next game, which is a playoff game!

I rarely see broadcasters so blatantly display their fandom as Gus did all game. Flags get planted all the time, Ohio St players reacted poorly.

They deserve to celebrate after being handed a win on a silver platter by an incompetent coaching staff? Michigan has literally nothing to celebrate. They played like dogshit.
