Both??? BOTH senators from Maryland? @vanhollen.senate.gov as a lifelong Maryland resident I’ll single you out because Cardin is leaving anyway but this is disgraceful, you will not stop republicans by trying to legitimise their bullshit culture war nonsense. Grow a spine or there’s the door.

Every one of these senators voted for the first anti-lgbtq+ bill since the 1990s. They sold out trans kids in order to fund the military industrial complex. It's disgusting and despicable behavior and I'm disappointed in each of them.

Wrote to Padilla this afternoon. That someone joins the military, willing to serve their/our country, and then their kids pay the price of losing access to the full range of health care services that non-enlisted family members can get? It's vicious

It's not "I can't vote to hurt the military by withholding funding so I have to vote for the funding even though it will hurt trans people"; there are enlisted trans military personnel and there are enlisted people with trans family members, so you end up hurting the military either way.

I take a different approach. Trust a Democrat to be a liar and a thief with a golden tongue. They cannot dissapoint me because it's expected...that said they as a whole disgust me. A pox upon their names. May they be known for what they are. Traitors of the Marrow

The problem with "compromise" in politics is that gradually the things you refuse to compromise on become fewer and fewer. The right goes farther right and the "left" follows them.

GOP has cornered Dems: be the party for minority issues that they will use to completely define Dems as in your kid returns from school surgically altered into another sex or be centrist. Similar to abortion, painting the Dems as afterbirth murderers. Does this explain their vote?

Same, but it's not really shocking -- I write to my senators all the time, and his office responds to a lot of things, but pretty much NEVER to anything involving trans folks. He doesn't care.

I tried calling Duckworth's office yesterday about this but they were redirecting people to their online comment form (which I just used to register my disappointment). Durbin cosponsored an amendment to keep his care coverage so his vote is a reversal and extra disappointing.

Probably a copy-and-paste error while making the list. In the Bluesky app if you copy-paste a link, and then delete the link from the text, the link itself still stays unless you X it out.
