I think about the Kamala loss every day. I don’t know if I’ve held onto a resentment and attendant grief about an election like this ever before. Even after Gore.

331 days down, just 1130 to go! So weird to be in this place where we all know it's over, but they've still got *years* to destroy things and hurt people.

I don’t want to relitigate here why she lost. We’ll never know for sure! A thousand reasons. Maybe that’s why Gore was easier to let go of: One primary reason. They cheated. In a way why she lost doesn’t matter, which is another reason the grief holds. I hate it.

For me it’s 50% that Harris’s loss requires grappling with how a majority of voters could get to a place that they’d reelect him. That’s a deep and troubling problem. The other 50% is that I was in my 20s when Gore lost and Bush hadn’t broken me yet.

I think this one hurts so bad because all of us knew exactly what a disaster a Trump presidency was and we all knew that if he won again it would soooooo much worse. And yet, our fellow (white) citizens voted him into office anyway and now the whole world is suffering the consequences.

We had parent teacher conferences the next day and neither one of us had slept the night before and I just remember absolutely glaring at any other parent I saw who was smiling (for literally any reason). I also came in hot with my kids’ teacher for shit her classmates said (we were in Alabama).

I see Bush-Gore as the turning point because it was the start of the "Oh, they're both the same!" trope which continues to this day. Plus there was evidence post SC decision that a full FL recount likely would have gone to Gore (a necessary plot element for the "Travelers" scenario).

These thoughts always remind me of perhaps the worst fault in our country; we elect the best CANDIDATE, not the candidate who would be the best President. Hillary was more qualified than maybe any candidate in history.

I think part of that was that Gore was such a terrible candidate. You watch the debate where he destroyed Ross Perot and compare it to the campaign Gore. What the fuck happened there? It was almost as if he didn't want it. And Lieberman was zero help. I agree about unplugging...this space is no good

2000 will forever haunt me. The lieutenants in that theft are on SCOTUS now. Thinking about all the knife twists in Biden’s back from his own, the drumbeat of he’s too old while the press ignored the INSANE things Trump was saying, just all of it. TFM.

Aim your anger, resentment, and grief directly at Elon Musk and his merry band of hackers. Forensic audits were required after this travesty yet there was a quick concession and exit that left the majority of us speechless. Betrayal on all sides. I'm disgusted and so very tired.

Yeah, I get it! I volunteered for Harris/Walz in a "red" city, knowing full-well what we were headed for with a Trump sequel. It's hard not to resent people who were clueless then, thought it made no difference, and now are directly in harm's way. I'm not enjoying "I told you so." Not at all.
