This is probably only one of only two, maybe three halftime shows ever which actually have an artistic point of view beyond “here are my greatest hits”. It’s already extraordinary.

I protested the Super Bowl, but saw it on an app that posted the whole show. It looked amazing!!! Definitely artistic, and he won a Pulitzer for a reason 😍

I never knew this until tonight...He was awarded the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music, becoming the first musician outside of the classical and jazz genres to receive the honor.

And it’s also a standout for the fact that Kendrick is at the genuine top of his game, instead of 20 or 30 years past his peak like so many other halftime acts.

This stood out to me. Most halftime shows are legacy acts playing the hits. Kendrick almost never dipped into anything outside of 2024 releases. If you’re not in touch with modern hip hop, you’ll be lost listening to this concert.

If you know literally anything about current music, you would know what the 'inside joke' was. 'They Not Like Us' was one of, if not THE biggest song of 2024. One of the biggest events in music, period. Both artists are internationally known! sorry you felt left out?

1, why so desperate for my attention that you'd respond TWICE 6hrs apart? 2, yes literally. 3, is rap NOT music? 4, i prefer alt rock too, but the majority of the bands who chart NOW? became popular a decade+ prior or they're Billie Eilish. U2 & RHCP are not current bands.

It was not FOR every earhole at that moment. Some baffled folks will have to do research, Google up some lyrics, maybe listen to studio versions of those songs. Prob not going to expend the effort to do so... But the target audience was right in tune and loving it. White is not "default".

You were inconvenienced? You didn't have familiar things dropped into your open mouth like a baby bird? Exposed to something new? Gosh that's hard to process. Was it a disturbing experience? That's really hard, and it's all too much. Don't worry you can watch Kid Rock any time over on Truth Social.

You're jumping to conclusions. Apparently the back story in one that you would only know of you're a fan. A performance on a national stage, should be off universal interest. Prince understood that. As did U2 and Bruno Mars.

Heh, sounds cool. I didn't see cause I didn't watch. Occasionally when I do I like the halftime show, often I don't get it, but I don't blame pop culture much for me being out of touch with pop culture. Since I don't know who that even is though, if it's art, then I might get some idea. :)

All rap is garbage Rap is not "music" Music has instrumentation Guitar, piano, organ, horns, strings And singers with range who sing about love, life experiences Rap has pulsating bass and drums And hateful monotone lyrics Garbage

I sat out the SB and man. To get all the highlights and learn of the poetry was honestly such a relief-- a release of I feel, collective tensions. ❤️ Very proud of this country's people making a scene and having fun in the face of chaos. ✨️

I was really impressed with the choreography in particular. That’s my background and I truly have no notes. I often feel like rap backup dance Choreo is often really lackluster but this was visually perfect. The costumes too. He really said 🇺🇸

Music got me through so much shit growing up and I have never abandoned it! Idk what is considered a “young Gen X,” but my besties and I are turning 50 this year! I got my Kendrick 🎟️ and can’t wait for June!

Got you fam: #REPOST 1. Samuel L Jackson playing Uncle Sam aka the SLAVE house) like he played in Django 2. Samuel L Jackson warning Kendrick to play the game YT America wants us to play and not be "ghetto" 3. The Squid games stage which symbolizes the rich killing the poor. cont.

4. The dancers in Red White & Blue representing the American flag (how many ⭐️ vs whats displayed) 5. The stage also being a prison yard where his black performers harmonized while he rapped. (Not forgeting those incarcerated)

6. Protecting black women like Serena Williams after the disrespect from Drake (Karma NEVER misses) 7. And once again reminding Drake and America "They Not Like Us".. OUR CULTURE IS AUTHENTIC✊🏾🖤❤️💚💛 8. Turn the tv off.. due to the state of the world. (Organize & Unite)
