One of the most interesting things about Jimmy Kimmel, and what I loved most about his conversation with Bill Burr a few months back, was that they’re both middle-aged white comedians who heard how culture has evolved, took notes, grew up, didn’t get defensive, and became *even more* successful.

It takes foresight to see how the world is changing and it takes talent to pivot to a new act without alienating your audience. So many of Kimmel and Burr’s contemporaries lucked into success by being the right persona at the right time. They can’t pivot and they know it. Same goes for tech leaders

The thing I don't get about the "you can't tell the same jokes anymore" crowd is that...of COURSE societies change. Otherwise all the best jokes would have been made in Sumeria 5000 years ago and there would be no need for comedy anymore. You want a laugh? Just pick up your cuneiform tablet.

. . . and then Bill Burr took money from the terror state behind 9/11 and the torture and murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. This expelled student journalist will never forget what #BonesawBill did
