Haha! You reminded me when I got "lost" and my gma couldn't find me and got so mad they paged my name over the PA, when I got up to the front she was super mad! Happed a couple of times. One time I had to have them page her because I couldn't find her and started freaking out I thought she left me 😂

"They may be redeemed at any KMart in the United States or Puerto Rico."

One thing that ISN'T going away anytime soon is Kmart's Australia and New Zealand division. They're still going strong even without its US derivative.

Holy crap this brings back some memories! K-mart was huge here in Indiana, especially outside rural areas where I grew up. I have lots of memories of my grandpa and I going and my dad and I going. My aunt was a manager for a while too. K-mart was the place! 🥲

this is so fucking cool

One of my favorite listens every year!!

These tapes are my addiction! Though I unfortunately never grew up in the Kmart *golden-era* (our Kmarts here in Canada sold to Zellers less than a year after I was born), I oddly enough get very nostalgic for them. I often times put them on while I'm relaxing ☺️

This is the sign I needed to start a new playthrough

Reliving this magic currently.

My only thought upon hearing this was "hasbro owns half of those names brands now."

His voice sounds like the recording slows to a stop at the end of every sentence.

For example, the October 1989 tape is here. On the sidebar, there's a link labeled "VBR MP3" which is probably the file you want. archive.org/details/Kmar...
