People who press the elevator button when it’s already lit up, why? I’m not mad. I just want to know. Do we have a problem?

I will raise you the opposite of this, only on the south east of the UK: arriving at the road crossing, and despite the fact that pushing the bottom to cross lights it up... Someone already standing there, having not pressed the button. Why have you not pressed the button?

I think the theory is that it causes the doors to close faster. But we all know that any sort of "close door" button is just a placebo.

some elevator control systems are dumb and some take signals like 'how many people pressed the button' into account; very few places will activate the spare elevator because of extra button presses but a tiny number is a tiny number

I would approach and try and open a door only to find it was locked. My x would then immediately come up behind me and try the door herself. Like I was unable to open a door and may of just been inept. Talk about aggravating. Oh and she never once was able to open one after CHECKING HERSELF!

My least favorite is when an elevator is full and someone presses it again *right as the doors are closing* and it opens the doors again. Like I understand why it happens, but have these people never used an elevator before? They *all* do this, so at this point you should know to *wait*.
