This is becoming a common pattern worldwide and if you're wondering it's because facism and patriarchy are twins.

I think my ability to distinguish between "I am feeling weirdly anxious and low today" and "I am just a person having a totally normal reaction to being alive during the 2020s" might have completely vanished.

Ah, the auto influencers have explained that this carbon fiber-wrapped ball, which sits right behind the driver's head, holds about 100kg of nitrogen pressurized to about 10,000 psi. Let me just go review the tolerances people found in their Cyber Trucks

307,991 eligible voters not enrolled as of Friday. Almost half (43%) are 18-24. The least enrolled age group; now even more so than 2023. This govt KNEW this would happen—and did it anyway, with no mitigation plan. Such disdain for democracy, and for young people. www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/election-...

Staggeringly poor performance, $50 billion Budget blow out in 2 years! Borrowed $70 billion this term. And didn’t have a once in a hundred year event to contend with. Willis can’t lecture anyone but economics. And as for that performance in the house today. Oh what a mask you wear👺 Shambles🙇‍♀️

I don’t know if you will have noticed this. In the midst of an absolute crisis in every level of our health system, the Green Party announced a policy to massively boost funding to Health with a $30Bn investment over four years.

I got quite hammered one night and got out some Dreamies - which are cat treats that I'd intended to feed to one of the local friendly strays. I thought that I'd try one just out of curiosity. Turns out they're quite moreish and I ended up eating the whole pack. No regrets.

Just a periodic, friendly reminder that we could actually avoid all this by not caring who’s attracted to, who’s having sex with who, who’s marrying who, let alone believing any of it should matter in public policy. We could just all mind our own business and all have rights. ✨

I just saw NAZA, devastatingly clear storytelling; it seems AI targeting by the Israeli state has created video-games style dehumanisation, allowing deliberate "collateral" slaughter of children in Gaza. Kudos to the bravery of the film-makers and those who chose to whistle-blow by participating

The reason given to restrict the way/length people can vote in 2026 general election was to speed up the count of specials after & therefore speed up coalition negotiations. Today Luxon comes out with the clanger that he probably won’t be able to form a government before Xmas. Vote em out! #NZPol

As far as I can tell, the NZ Herald still has not published a single editorial about the changes to enrolment which is absolutely going to suppress the vote this election. They have just done their third editorial about vandalism of election hoardings, however.

The scale of it. Astounding: "At the last election, more than 450,000 people enrolled or updated their details after voting began, including 110,000 on election day itself. This time, anyone who misses the 25 October deadline will have their vote excluded." #nzpol rnz.liveblog.pro/lb-rnz/blogs...
