The principle was established in the days of piracy patrols. Stop a vessel, search and, if anything suspicious, escort into port for further examination and possible trial. If a vessel does not stop then, after due warning, opening fire is permitted, probably starting with a shot across the bows.

I am hoping that the allegations are somehow not true. It's outside the realm of just illegal orders from the top down to and including the pilots and the world is watching the enormity of what the US does. If true what if a Court Martial doesn't convict?

This reminds me of the debates around video games and violent films causing increasingly violent crimes. Are we actually seeing the results of the kids in the 80s/90s playing/watching them such as the likes of Hegseth treating real life as such?

Power loves power. The military isn't there to protect US citizens or residents or the world. We'll have to disband all branches, CBP, ICE and much of state and local police and just start completely over. Clearly oaths mean nothing.

In addition to Hegseth, bring charges against every military personnel involved to set an example that nobody will escape accountability for following illegal orders. Trump can pardon his way out of it, but that’s a risky take given he’s on verge of dying naturally or being removed from office.
