I saw Musk, Alex Gibney's documentary, yesterday afternoon. This is easily the most important documentary of the last decade. Watching it reminded me that over the last decade, exactly two publications have done a stand-up job of covering Musk: WSJ and Wired. The balance of US media has been AWOL.

Just out of curiosity, I looked up some US supermarkets on line, including Walmart. I could not believe the prices. All the basics (eggs, sugar flour) were around double that here but meat.... meat was stratospheric; around €35 for a kilo of low grade mince!

Off the charts. Everything that I buy has soared since I last purchased it. And compared to the UK, absolutely off the charts. And worse quality. Much worse quality.

Back in the US after a long break in the UK, I am suffering from total sticker shock after visiting a couple of DC supermarkets. I have never seen prices like it. Inflation numbers here are going to soar & are not yet telling the full story. The difference between late May & today is staggering.
