An LLM generates a representation of a person who thinks, feels, fears, or suffers. But the representation itself doesn't become conscious simply because it's convincing. The performance isn't enough evidence to establish the experiencer's existence. An Elvis impersonator isn't Elvis.

"indoor cats are miserable and they long for the outdoors and you are depriving them of their true nature by trapping them inside" okay here's my cat when he was outdoors vs now that's he's indoors

Kids, don't make my mistake—don't get the COVID, flu, and pneumonia shots in the same arm at the same time. Even if CVS told you it's okay. Very bad week. Although maybe it was just my personal allergic reaction to the pneumonia shot —which I was too young to have had, but that’s a separate issue.

How can they justify leaving right now? Diesel costs just hit an all-time high. Our nation is at war. The bond market is quivering. The urgency of AI regulation has come to a critical moment. Congress should be working overtime. Instead Speaker Johnson sent them home.

Wait, what? Yeah! I can afford a knob! 😅

You know who else has an unfair advantage in sport? Naturally talented athletes. And people with high hemoglobin. And rich people with money for sports camps and coaches. Why should they be allowed to compete? “Fairness in sports” my ass. Never since NFTs have I heard such bullshit.

A stray cat in Georgia was found caring for her kittens in the woods. Her foster named her Jolene and gave the family Dolly-themed names because, like Dolly, they were kind, tough “sweet survivors.” Dolly-themed cat names are genuinely pretty common in rescues, especially Dolly Purrton. RIP, Queen

If you can find common ground with Jared kusher, but not zohran mamdani, you shouldn't be in democratic leadership

“Representative Hakeem Jeffries, Democrat of New York and the minority leader, met privately in recent weeks with Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and top outside adviser, and discussed potential areas of common ground, according to five people with knowledge of the meeting.” BRUH.

#BlackCatAppreciationDay! This is Phantom, a selective humanophile. He is confident that he is a fluent speaker of Human. He has perfected his own languid, Lauren Bacall-esque look. He can't purr out loud. And he is absolutely loved. #catsofbluesky

#MitchMcConnell, "who hasn’t been seen in public for almost 2 months while on medical leave, VOTED “by proxy” on each amendment presented during the meeting." However, proxy votes “cannot make the difference in successfully ordering a measure or matter reported to the Senate." But the fact.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

Henry Ford was very much the Elon Musk of his era, acting as a famous, disruptive industrialist who reshaped transportation, dominated headlines, and courted intense public controversy. Henry Ford heavily influenced Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party.

If you’re watching Fauci’s testimony remember that science isn’t an ideology. It doesn’t lie. It evolves. COVID-19 was a once-in-a-century pandemic caused by a brand-new virus, recommendations changed because the evidence changed. That’s not deception. That’s how it works.

It truly is extraordinary to watch how any accusation of rape or sexual assault immediately is treated by our culture as an event requiring the protection, not of the victim's safety, but of the accused's reputation. Every accusation enters a workflow designed to negate the impact of the accusation.

I’m glad that the walls seem to be closing in on Andrew Tate, but it took criminal investigations across three countries, dozens of outspoken victims, and a hit TV show implying he drives boys to murder girls for this to happen—and he still hasn’t been convicted yet. This is why 98% get away with it

Unpopular opinion: fewer Republican votes in the Senate right now is a good thing, isn't it? Due to a 2024 Kentucky law, the Democratic Governor cannot appoint a temporary Democratic senator to fill the vacancy anyway. Also, it was a photo from the hospital.

Why do you copy-paste this? 👇 What is going on on Bluesky? A lot of bad memes and screenshots later. No, this graphic provides no source, date, definition of “tech executive,” list of facilities, or methodology. Also, Sam Altman, for example, lives within ~1.7 miles of the SFO12 Data Center.

Fact check: Ireland has not “switched on” this battery. Google and Energy Dome only announced the 23 MW/200 MWh CO₂ storage project in County Offaly in June 2026. It is planned to begin operating in 2028. The lithium-free technology is real; the viral caption is two years early.

They have taken over my window feeder. 😒 #mourningdove But you have to give them credit for knowing how to present themselves.

Was at the dentist's office today. It was another channel, but still with Trump's face and voice. 😒 So I asked for classic rock. They turn on YouTube. The second song was from Kid Rock. 🙄 I called it "add insult to injury."

Had an appointment with my doctor yesterday. Walked into a room where FOX News was playing. As I was the only one in there at the time, I spotted the remote and did what any Constitution-loving American would do and changed the channel.

Clarence Thomas says the 14th Amendment should be read narrowly because it was written for formerly enslaved people. By that logic, the 2nd Amendment was written for muskets, not AR-15s. Funny how that kind of originalism only shows up when it's convenient.

All of these cases are basically litmus tests for any Dem nominee. Are immigrants Americans? Do trans Americans deserve human rights? Are corporations superhumans who get to spend endlessly on elections to put whoever they want into power? These are simple questions with simple answers.
